Hello Evryone,

I have a 97 2.8 FWD w/ 16" stock rims and suspension.

- I would like to upgrade to 17" wheels w/ 235/45/17 tires, does this type of tires is to wide to rub from the inside strut? also using the stock suspension, Any one have pictures showing this size of tire and stock suspension?

- If i use 18" wheels and keep the stock suspension until upgrade later on coz my budget at this time is only for wheels.

- What suspension is the best use for 17 or 18 " wheels if i do upgrade later on, does coilover have the same ride as the original?

Thanks,

Kyle

Stock size on the cars that came with 17" wheels (2001 "celebration package like I have") come with 225/45-17 size. I'd probably stick with this size. It's plenty wide and will minimize speedometer error and rubbing. A 235/45-17 will be slightly taller as well as wider. I'm lowered to a bit below 25" fender to ground and rub the fronts occasionally when turning the wheel hard and going up a driveway, but never in normal driving.

Made a mistake on the tire size, should be 235/40/17 not 235/45/17. Any advice on suspension?

if you are on a budget, just get the awe suspension kit...it's h&r sport or race springs with bilstein shocks. they even have an option of grooved shocks for height adjustability. here's a link

ps: use the search function for common questions like these. the suspension topic has definately been discussed before, but you're new so i'll give ya a break [:D][;)]

yeah...the slippage was gone...till about last week!!! lol. i upgraded to a pc16 and associated hardware and now i'm slipping (not bad) in 5th gear at full boost. at 3500 rpms it'll jump up to 4000rpms but then holds and continues like it should. no biggie. i'm ordering the level ten tq converter soon and have it installed asap.
