tinted using Tamiya smoked spray paint for plastics ($5 at any hobby model kit store) and Duplicolor SUV clearcoat spray paint...

with lights on
lights off, during the day..

it would look even better with the 99.5-01 style taillights though.....oh well..

that looks clean...how do u think it would look on my silver audi??? yay or nay?

its opinion. your are going to get yays and nays. personally i vote yay. i like the look on a silver audi.

I had smoked tails on my last audi. and the clearcoat didnt give that nice gloss to it. so im thinking of having a autobody shop spray a clear coat on mine after i spray some nightshades on (from ebay)

I like!

Maybe I can do this soon, after my car gets fixed.
Gotta love the DIY stuff.

Looks good on your black car. I'm not a fan of smoked tails on any other color car...makes the tail lights stand out more than stock if anything.

looks good....makes me want to stop being lazy and do it to my car...

Looks really good on the Black. Actually it's usually 97 tails I see smoked. The 98 tails look sexy with the smoked white horizontal strip.

looks good but the top looks darker then the bottom. Maybe try another coat?

it's actually not darker at the top, but it just seems that way in the pictures coz of the reflection at the top....as well as the light reflecting in the chrome plates at the bottom.

yea, i'm not too big of a fan of smoked taillights unless it suits the style that you're trying to go for on the car... Since i was trying to go for the black look on my car, the stock taillights were a bit too red for my tastes....

but since i already debadged my car...having totally smoked taillights would make the backend of the car look really bare.. i opted to leave the whites alone......still gives it that stock look...yet not sooo stock look..

i think i've only seen one other person do that...but his was the 99.5-01 style taillights... they look real good coz the longer, more rectangular shape of the whites make it look more aggressive against the dark smoke color..

thx for all the comments guys..
