Hello everyone,
If you don't mind I would like to ask a few questions. Im still learning a bunch about my audi, i previously drove saabs (did have one audi before this one though).

So I had a bent rim... I bought a new set of 18" rims, got the on mounted and balanced. It did not fix my vibrations. So far I have also changed my motor mounts, my passenger side cv axle, cleaned my throttle body, pcv valve, and changed my spark plugs. Today i took out my plugs, reset the gap (from .028 to .030) and i cleaned my coil packs. I used a q-tip and rubbing alcohol, then I put dielectric grease on the rubber part of the coils.

The vibrations happen at first when I start from a stop, it almost feels like a jerking.. When I get around 25mph it stops until i hit about 50mph. Once i hit 50 if I really give it some gas it vibrates real bad. It makes my door panels shake, the floor shakes and I feel it in the seats too. The steering wheel barely shakes at all...

Anyways, today i also noticed that the tube going on to the back of my purge valve or n80 valve (part # 06E-906-517-A) is cracked right where it fits on... My question is what exactly does this purge valve do and can that little crack be bad? Also when i am pumping gas, i can get like 3 dollars worth before the pump stops and i can sort of hear the gas running into the tank if that makes sense...

I am thinking about getting my trans (CVT) oil flushed as well, but the local euro shop wants 200 bucks to do it... I would do it myself but dont have the proper equipment and tools. I dont believe the trans has anything to do with my vibrations however, because when i put it into tiptronic mode i can beat on it and it shifts smoothly the way id imagine it is supposed to.

Just hoping for a little insight and what you would do next if this were your car. Thanks in advance!

Ummm so the vibrations are only when moving? if that's true you might wanna check all suspension components. visual inspection is easy. best thing to do is take front wheels off. then then for leaking control arms, bad bushing on tie rods ends, check that you don't have brake fade. are your rotors warped? check them with your finger nail. if you have rails in your rotors they are bad. cv axles boots check them too. they have a tendancy to break and leak. then clucking noises come and go.

Did your rims fit directly over the hubs or was there space around the hub? What I'm asking is was the hole in the center of the rim larger than the ringed lip on the rotor? If so, get some hub centric rings for your rims. There are different sizes so you'll have to figure that out on your own.

I had a rim that did similar. Bentley 19X9" they ended up not sitting on the bolts perfectly. I tried countless times to get them to sit right but they just wudnt. They ended up tearing my front wheel bearings apart. And they were used long. And only shook the car at 60-75km/hour. It was like a wheel was in balanced. Anyway costly cuz I had to repair both front bearing shortly after going back to my 18" wheels. Just in case check the bearings if you can. Just hope yours didn't cause the issues I had.

i have a set of the rings coming in the mail tomorrow, my rims inner bore is 73.1 so i ordered 57.1 to 73.1. I am praying that this fixes my issues, if not i might replace the other cv axle.

Yeah if you have that much of a difference it will cause a shake. Even if it doesn't fix your problem its better to have it the correct center rings.

I think you'll feel a significant difference when you get them. I've seen arguments where people say they make a difference and I've found that to be false at least in my case. There have always been night and day differences when I've put them on
