for all the BBK folks, did you just cut up some sensors and tie them off? that's what i did... but both my sensors are fully intact and i'm throwing an error (worked for two years though??)

any ideas? thanks

I removed the sensor from the old pad and kept it connected to the plug
No code

i just have them cut and joined at like 2" or so... from like forever ago. its what the brembo instructions said to do

If you wrap them together, aren't you closing a circuit?

Isn't that what sets the sensor off?the pad grinds down until the sensor touches metal, then completes the circuit and light goes on.

nah. i think it has a connection, then the pad grinds down through that connection breaking it, then the sensor goes off lol.

Rain recently? Moisture in the connector will do it... Take it aparts, clean/dry it out, put a little bit of dielectric grease and re-connect them...

found this great resource (http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/susp_whls_brake_steer/brakesensor.html) for anyone with a similar problem.

No, no code-out of breakpad wear warning. I think it has to do with the fact that we have an lcd indicator. The older MKs you were able to remove them since they were just dummy lights.

Hi there, I am brand new and just browsing around trying to payback all the help that this site has given me over the years. It can not be coded out with vagcom unless you have the b5 (I believe). I would try this fix http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/491537-DIY-Eliminating-the-brake-pad-warning-light-a-more-direct-solution. I did it on my s4 and it worked wonderfully. It is also way better than the other fix because it doesn't get any weather exposure. Hope this helps. Cheers.
