The factory springs on your B7 A4 were designed to exacting standards by some of the world's most talented engineers. Replacing this component requires careful consideration - especially if you're concerned with making a lasting improvement to your vehicle.

H&R has a German pedigree and engineering reputation that befits the B7. Their Sport Spring Kits offer the correct spring rate for low, aggressive looks and high-performance handling, while retaining driveability and ride comfort. A maximum lowering of 1.7'' in the front, 1.6'' in the rear can be expected.

do you need to change out stock shocks and struts?
i've been on the fence about coilovers for awhile now and i don't need to be able to adjust it all the time just a little drop would be nice to remove some gap

It's definitely recommended to have some sort of sport shock to be paired up with lowering springs. If your vehicle came with sport suspension this should be adequate. Otherwise I would suggest going to an upgraded shocks/struts if you don't want them to blow out prematurely.

This is opinionated. A lowering spring is known to put more stress on your shocks, spring rates shock travel etc. can differ. For those with shocks with less life in them, you may shortly end up with blown shocks which is why some say just go with a coilover set up to avoid buying springs and inevitably buying shocks. It can differ depending on the spring and drop, but if you are near the 100k mark I'd definitely say just go with a coilover setup, but again this can differ.
