Right side light is out, I looked at it quickly and not sure how to get access.

Do I have to remove the paneling on the inside of the trunk? Or that rectangular black plastic piece next to the light assembly? I just don't want to break anything or do any unnecessary work. It's a '97.

take off the carpeting by removing the little plastic clips. pull it back get a wrench and theres 2 nuts on each side that u have to undo. undo them and just pull the light out and then the harness with the bulbs will be right there.

Do you really have to pull the whole light out to replace the bulb on the 97? Because on my 2000 I just pull the cover off from inside the trunk and the whole bulb assembly comes off so I can pull the bulb out without taking the lense off.
