Hey is anyone running this set up with H&R sports?
If so I am assuming you are running a 255/30/20? Has anyone ran a 265 tire?
Rubbing issues?
let me know your thoughts! [drive]

The short answer is a 255 tire will take some work to fit, and a 265 is almost out of the question. The below post I have linked has the most details when it comes to fitting that size wheel. There obviously are some minor differences based on the type of tire, your ride height, and alignment, but it's not easy unless you go down to 245 or narrower tire.
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/350903-The-ultimate-B8-S4-A4-wheel-fitment-discussion?p=10146642&viewfull=1#post10146642
One other thing to note in the above post is modphoto is running Hankook Ventus tires that run very narrow. A wide tire like a Michelin PSS would take more clearance.
Edit: Just to expand.... A normal fitment, say a 20x10" with 255 tires, would require around an ET39-40 offset minimum. So, if you are looking at an ET35, you need to find some way to gain that additional 4-5mm (again could be a little more of less depending on tires and ride height). There are three ways to gain that extra clearance: fender work, negative camber, or stretched/narrower tires.

Thanks! looks like I'm going to have to go with a 255/30/20 and I agree. Michelins are going to be much less stretch than that of a continental... I just wanted to see if anyone was running a 265 and made it work. The H&R sport springs really aren't that low.....

I don't know of anyone running a 265. Several people are running a 245, and couple 255's with some minor work.

That will be tight. You will prob rub on dips and heavy turns. I'm 20x9 ET 36 (with spacers) running 255/30 20. I'm lowered on H&R OE's... I rubbed 1 time only on a very heavy dip in the road and was going a bit too fast.

Nice I just wanted to go 20x10 so I wouldnt even need any spacers I was just let oh well I'm gonna do it! 255/30/20 wont be too bad I've seen a lot of pics with it it will be a slight stretch but nothing so crazy it wont work. LOL

Adam- Most of the guys running 20x10 AG's are +35 and running 255 with no issues. I'm running 20x10 but they're a +40 on 255's and I have no rubbing issues at all. Like you mentioned you're not as low as H&R SS, so you should be fine.

Who's running 255's on 20x10" ET35 with no issues or modifications? Not going to say it's impossible, but not very likely either regardless of ride height. It would take some minor tweaking.... A tire like the Hankook may help as they run about as wide as some of the wider 245's. There's a big difference in a 20x10" ET40 with Hankooks, and a 20x10" ET35 and really any tire. Everyone I know with the 20x10" ET35 is either running 245's or had to do some work to get 255's to fit. Nothing crazy, but more than nothing at all.

A 20x10" ET35 would be almost 14mm more aggressive than what you are running. You'll gain back some clearance in the stretched tire (maybe 5-6mm), but the rest has to come from somewhere.

You'll be fine. As long as you are OK going into it knowing there could be either some minor rubbing or minor fender work involved, then it's no issue.
This is not directed at anyone here, but when I talk wheel fitment, I try to stick to more general statements. I have no doubt 20x10" ET35/255 tires may have worked for one or two people, but for most it is going to have some minor rubbing (I would guess 90% of people running this setup either have some minor rubbing or fender work). I wouldn't base anything solely on what I am running, or what worked for only one person unless you are running the exact same setup. Way too many variables to make specific statements about anyone's fitment unless you know all the factors involved (wheel size/offset, tire size/brand, ride height and alignment specs).

I'm on 20x10 ET35 with hankooks on OE springs and the only time had major rubbing issues was when I had a lot of weight in the back and went over bumps and dips at freeway speeds. Other than that virtually rub free.

That sounds about right. That's probably the most conservative 20x10" ET35/255 tire setup you can have. Hankooks are about as narrow as they come, so if you want to run 255's, something like that and the natural camber from a 1.2" to 1.5" drop will do a lot to limit the rubbing (there you're talking about -1.5 to -2 degrees of negative camber, and you'll want to get the toe under 1/16 and/or as close to 0 as you can stand). Even then, there is some minor rubbing, but bearable from the sounds of it. It would be hard to find a more conservative setup in that wheel/tire size to where you'd have less (or no) rubbing.

I'd say that sounds like pretty regular rubbing to me... I often have a car full of people and dips and bumps at freeway speeds are hard to avoid. I guess it's all relative...

Put Brembo's all around and had to put 10mm spacer in rear to clear new big brakes. Car also lowered slightly. Only rubbing is when car is loaded and hits a dip. Slight rubbing on inside of rear wheel wells. No damage to tire or sheet metal.

I will be running 20x10 et35 with 255/30/20 Sumitomo htr z III on h&r coilovers. I am having a friend of mine (shop owner) do all fender work professionally to make it a clean, rub-free, hassle-free setup.
I plan to make a post with all details and photos as I've been researching and it seems modphoto and staticuxo were the best resources for fitting a 20x10 wheel (various offsets, obviously).
Modphoto has very detailed pictures of what he did as far as fender modification and I hope to follow that closely and reassure all findings. I will report back in the coming weeks, I'm just waiting for the wheels to come in at this point.

Very interested in seeing your end result. I will be getting 19x9.5 39et with Michelin PSS 255/35s later this week first part of next. I am a touch worried about fitment... I can't imagine how tight yours will be. Sounds like you have it all figured out and I can't wait to see the fender fitment.

One nice thing about the B8 S4 is they can really pull off 19's or 20's equally well (hell, even the stock 18's look OK at stock height). With that said, I will go 20's next time. My only beef with 20's is I'd like to run a 265/30/20, and there are very limited options in that size (there is a PSS, but it's $325+). I'll probably do a 20x9.5" or 20x10" ET42ish (maybe a little lower on the 9.5", and I'll deal with any rubbing).

20's no doubt look awesome. I debated for a while about getting 20's but just decided the potential and likely headaches were not worth it. With my S4 being my daily driver, didn't want to compromise ride quality or have constant rubbing issues. 19's look good enough, especially when the car is lowered.
Now, if we had RS4's here, 20's would undoubtedly be the way to go with the wider body and stance of the RS4. But alas, we no have them here in the US [=(]
At the end of the day, I love seeing 20's on other S4's because they look great!!!

Agreed. I think the one thing that will save me here if there is rubbing, is simply being able to adjust the suspension. Glad I went that route vs springs setting a static ride height.
