Say you have a flashed s4, you remove your ecu and swap with someone who has the Same year and tranny. Does that not work? Is there anything vin specific to ecu's?

ECU is coded to car, only dealer can move it, flash is usually also tied to VIN i think and dealer would over write it anyway when they moved the ECU.
Essentially you would more likely end up selling 2 TD1's, one for each car, no flash and they whole thing would cost more than the flash itself I suspect.

You cannot move it from car to car due to the vin encoded into the ecm and yea it may start once before it does the vin check. But once the car does the vin check against the other modules it will see one is not like the others and isolate it and shut that module down. All new GM cars are like this if you try to swap modules between cars. If we do that for testing purposes we have to reflash it for that specific VIN. Its to prevent unwanted warranty costs and tampering with modules. Seems like pretty much everyone is getting onboard with this process to prevent tampering.

There is a way to disable the immo, which will allow you to swap it, there is a company on ebay that is doing it. I tried to figure it out since i have an extra ecu laying around, but just havent had the time to look into it more.

Yes, it's possible to sell your ECU with the tune loaded. However, it's not feasible in most cases due to the time/cost of the IMMO needing to be reprogrammed.

Well, you could sell the whole car...
The flash/pulley is registered to the VIN

Shoot, in the old days you'd just swap ecu's . Guess they shut that down.
