Hey all! A week ago i just picked up a 2008 A4 s-line with the 6 speed standard, 82k, and quattro! Absolutly love the car. I used to have a mazdaspeed protege and this is a huge upgrade for me. Is there anything i should be worried about as far a common problems? I have already change the cam follower, ordered a GFB dv+, and ordered the pcv revamp kit. As far the timing belt pulleys and water pump, its part of the agreement that it gets done for free at 100k ! Future plans for april consist of REVO S2, drop in afe pro dry, 034 trst pipe, and maybe a cx racing ic down the road. Will post pics as soon as i figure out how on my iphone. Thanks in advance for any advice for a newbie!!

Any pics of the car? You need to upload it somewhere else and copy the "image URL" to post here (I use photobucket). Good find man.
I'd recommend JHM tune over Revo because of how new and successful it has been. If you purchase Stage 1, you can upgrade to Stage 2 later when it is released for either a small fee or no fee at all (assuming you have the supporting mods). JHM also makes a great FMIC, HFC/Test Pipe, Y-pipe to mate up to an S4 exhaust (B6 or B7), and if you're looking at wheels don't rule out ECS' Alzor line. Fantastic quality for about $400 for a full set of wheels.
Good luck
Edit: Also, if you have halogens and plan on upgrading those, only do OEM B-Xenons with the Kufatec Harness and VAG COM change. Don't use the POS replica headlights, even the introduction of that idea on the forums will need a flame suit

Congrats on the new ride! In for pics.
Keep your oil topped up (these things consume a bit of oil) and keep an eye on that cam follower and you'll be farther ahead than most.

She came stock with the d1s hid bulbs, and i put the gen 6 led bulbs in the fogs to get rid of the oem halogen and was kind of thinking leds for the Main bulbs too? I dont know if this is a good idea or not tho...and vag com?

Ah might as well be that guy,
this is not an S Line. All 2008s had S Line exterior package, door blades bumpers trunk etc. A real S Line has the suspension, 3 spoke S Line steering wheel, shift knob, wheels, and door blades.
Still, you got a pretty clean car in an awesome color! That and S Line exterior is an expensive retrofit for later on, so 2008s are a good buy for that case. Congrats man!
And fyi, these cars get sensitive to LED and other bulbs which draw less current versus what comes stock. You will throw error codes at times.

After reading alot on here prior to joining i had a feeling, but either way ill keep my eyes open to maybe complete the package some day haha and after i put in the bulbs i did get the warnings for both fogs out, is there a canceler that i an get for the bulbs or is that something i need vag com for?

LED's other than the DRL (with a resistor) and City Light/Parking Lights (also with a resistor, but some have built in ones like the ECS/Ziza ones) will cause some issues.
Here are the links to what I currently have in my headlights. I went for the hyper white/blueish tint look opposed to the popular yellow bulb looks. I have many pictures in my progression thread in my signature, but will provide them here too
Ziza 6000K Low/High Xenon Bulb (although the bulbs you currently have seem to give you the look already, I'd keep them): http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Lighting/Headlights/Bulbs/Low_Beam/ES1884394/

What kind of monster would drill into that filler plate [headbang]. Heres a link to a replacement (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Exterior/Body/Grille/Plate_Filler/ES2081146/)
If you swap in the satin black filler plate, or remove the grille to fill those holes, you should use the opportunity to repaint your whole grille assembly black. The blackout S-line grilles look awesome

[facepalm]. The inbreds had to mount the license plate holder....its state law, but 0 f*cks givin, i refuse to have a front plate. The, "someone stole my vanity plate" has worked every time for all my past rides haha. I plan on getting "GOT BAR" so they might buy it hehe. The ecs city light led, is that more purple/ blue then blue/white? And the oem hid bulbs after they heat up look like a 5300k but when they are cold they are almost a perfect match. The led fog kit is a 6000k and id like to find a resister kit and try it for grins and chuckles and if not i may look into the kit you showed with the dipped bulbs.

They're closer to white than blue, they go with my 6000K bulbs very well. The bulbs I provided the link to are straight plug and play and have the same output as the stock fog lights, despite the loss of "depth" and "fog cutting" because they are a whiter bulb.

6000 is the look im going for so that would be excellent, a new set of 6k hid d1s, those dipped fogs, the led citys, and ill attemp the get a warning canceller for the driving lights. My only other concern is what about the outer amber lights in the headlight pods? Any 6k solution? My brother has a 2500hd and uses the switch back bulbs that blink amber but are 6k when acting as a running light, but im sure that would throw a code?

Countless other threads. A quick search will answer that question in as much detail as you can handle. Basically make sure its VW certified.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car! I love that color and can't wait to see what you have planned.
I don't care what anyone says, you are playing with fire waiting until 100k to get that timing belt done. If it pops, so does your engine. Just something to think about.

Nice car OP, and color. You've got the latest and greatest of the B7 bunch! Just keep the oil level up to par and some good tires and you're set.

I know a lot of people run rotella t6 but be prepared for a long discussion on this because everyone has their preference.
I also run T6 and have in most my cars/bikes. Most modern full-syn oils are decent (not wal-mark brand shit lol).

Well you can use VAG COM to completely turn them off other than while they're being used as indicator bulbs, just simply set your car to European headlight settings. That will also allow you to run fogs with high beams

I have tons of people running the STs in New England and Canada and the Midwest with out issue. The galvanizing is good and the adjusters are polycarbonate so they do not seize to the threads the way a metal on metal would. Plus the STs are close to half the price.

You oughta look into the license plate frames that screw in where the tow hook goes if you have to have a front plate and don't want to screw into it. I have the ugly filler plate made for american license plates and want to replace it asap. I think you can get them for around $40-50 on ebay or amazon.

The gfb+ will most likely throw a soft code. That is probably why Jhm doesn't work very well with it.
