D2 S8 Brembo Front Brakes on a B5 S4? Rotor Replacement Options?


Just bought a beautiful B5 S4 and I am in the process of shaking it down and addressing any issues it may have.


The car has an early Stasis Front BBK (from about 8-10 years ago).

The setup consists of: S8 4piston Brembo calipers, S8 Pads, Proprietary Stasis Caliper Carrier and Two-Piece Stasis Brake Rotors that are approximately 328-330mm in diameter and approximately 30-32mm thick. So 330x30 for all intents and purposes.

* I believe Stasis referred to these as "Winston Cup" Rotors and sold them as an upgrade.

I need to source replacements as they are fairly worn after 35-45k miles and two sets of pads. Street Duty is, after all; not what they were intended for.

I believe the outer discs are made by Performance Friction (PFC) and replacements are around $350-$450 a piece. SO I am looking for economical replacements.

Does anyone have this setup on their car? What rotors are you using? Where can I source Replacement Outer Discs? Can I use a D2 S8 or B6/B7 S4 345mm Rotor?

Any and all advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

None of these Stasis kits have economical replacement options. And the older the kit gets, the harder it is to find parts for them. Things like caliper brackets (aluminum) and rotor hats (also aluminum) are starting to fail on these kits. A "one-off" kit like this with misc. mix and match of parts is hard to source replacements. If you want to stick with the big brake setup, you might want to consider parting out your kit and use the salvage funds to buy a new kit.

Stasis' last go at brakes was with Alcon calipers and rotors, and since the Stasis operation is no more, you might want to look into the Alcon stuff at Alconkits.com They have some Stasis replacement items that may fit what you've got. They've also got some good kits with their Paragon partner.
