whats up figured id finally make a post just been lurking for awhile, bought this b7 about 3-4 weeks ago 2007 fwd with 88k

plans right now are to lower it a bit with some eibach pro's, throw on a exhaust and test pipe and dip the wheels (hate that silver on them until i get some new new ones), grille and rear emblem.

other stuff i have planned is more preventative maintenance and replace the intake flap motor which i got a CEL for a couple weeks ago but hasn't came back on plus hasn't cause any issues... i was thinking about just doing a flap delete instead though?

ive been wanting a audi for the past 5 yrs or so figured a german guy needed a german ride lol, my other project is a bagged 4 door blazer so not too sure about bagging this one as i like the ride quality the way it is.... from what i read the eibach's should pretty much maintain that.

only things i dont like about it is the tan interior prefer black and its not a quattro but ive been happy with it.

Congrats! Welcome to the forum!

Call audi of america and give them your vin#. That RC motor might be covered under extended warranty.(its covered on my car should it ever fail) They'll also tell you what else is covered under the extended warranty.

Don't do the delete. It is a huge headache to tune out and you will throw codes and run like shit if your stock and if your tuned it will do the same unless it's tuned for the delete. Like Danny said check with the dealer there is a tbs for the flap motor. Don't delete the code. Welcome to the forum. As you should know from lurking keep tabs on you cam follower.

yeah after looking up the codes i got i figured it should be covered under the extended warranty but i'll give them a call to make sure, thanks for the info on the delete.
i got it from a local used lot so if its not under the extended warranty they'll replace it as i have a warranty with them as well... local audi dealer is a good 60-80 miles from me unless the local vw place services audi's too.

i only got one key when i got the car so might have to go to audi soon anyways to get a spare and a key fob, i read a lot of mixed things regarding that some people say its 300 to get a spare while some say they were able to use ebay blanks and getting them cut.

Just an fyi, the dealer might be useless in telling you whats covered. I suggest calling AoA directly and letting them look up everything by vin#

Yea there are a lot Of mixed things about keys. The biggest thing is to get the fob programmed to your car. Most like
Y the only way is through the dealer and like you know it ain't cheap. Also about the vw dealer working on your car, I am not sure if aoa will reimburse them so I can't answer that for you.

im gonna make some calls and go from there, hopefully the vw place can at least do the key so i dont have to take a roadtrip for that but we'll see worst case if its not under warranty ill do the flap motor myself which i plan on doing most of the work myself to begin with unless its something bigger like the transmission etc

There are a ton of diy on this forum for most things. With that attitude, you will be fine.

i usually do my own work as long as i think i can handle it that is lol and read through some of the DIY's on here so far like the flap motor which seems to be pretty simple.

anyways im thinking my first mod may be a catch can.

Catch cans are never a bad idea. I love my 034. Snub mounts are cheap too

Instead of dipping the wheels just get different ones lol those are hideous. Props on having the xenons though. Congrats!

Welcome to Audizine! You'll find a ton of information in here.

I didn't notice, but is this a 2.0t or 3.2L? If 2.0t, any maintenance history on the cam follower/high pressure fuel pump (referenced as HPFP)? This is a recommended replacement part that can help you avoid catastrophic damage to your engine (if caught too late). I am only bringing it up, because when I joined the forum, members recommended I check it and have it replaced. Here is an excellent DIY on it to educate yourself:
