View Full Version : How to remove top (chrome) window trim? (Not to blackout)

The long top (near roof rail) piece of the chrome (or whatever color) window trim. Any idea how it comes out?

I am NOT trying to black out the trim, I am trying to replace it. I have searched, but about the only threads I can find eventually end up being about dipping or covering them with vinyl.

I need to do this because I am a genius and pulled into the garage with my bike on the roof rack. I've had the dents pulled out of the bodywork, but this piece of trim is bent and needs to be replaced because it looks like crap.

Thanks!

It's riveted in so you have to drill it out. Install is reverse, but you will need a small headed rivet to fit in the narrow track.

^yup. Had my chrome trim replaced with OEM black and body shop said it was a pain to do.
