I know there are a lot of people out there who are really into their headlight situation. They retrofit, or search out cars with specific headlights, Xenons, Halogens, BiXenons, HID's, Ecodes..............yadda yadda yadda......................

Its all good, people like what they like--more power to em! I see these threads and skip.

My question is..........how many out there are like me that could give a __________ what is in there as long as I can see and they work properly. Maybe it is a eye condition thing? I see fine at night, but my girlfriend doesnt see the best in the evening.

How many of those same people who dont care about their type of headlights are also the same ones that are annoyed when someone rolls up behind em, almost blinding them with some annoying special super headlight unit?

Just curious.

First off this should be in the chatterbox.

Second, If you have a stigmatism like me it is harder to see in the night compared to others but that's mostly a star gazer affect from headlights. However I will say I was always find with Halogens for the longest time and thought they were great. But then I got into the audi with xenons with adaptive and I will never go back. You don't think headlights that move around curves would be that awesome but they are.

The worst headlights I've ever experienced are people who put hids in halogens and people who lift their trucks and don't readjust their headlights.

I agree--I'm constantly finding people who don't adjust their headlights after a fancy new setup and outright blind you. Or the folks who just plain ignore that their high beams are on.

This is another great place where having Xenos is great. You flash those babies at someone with their brights on and they quickly turn of there brights off after having their retina's seared

Get bi xenon they are 100% better than halogens... You will wondered how you even saw at night with halogens when u change over. Halogens are like a little man in ur headlight holding a candle...[emoji91]

This!! I have halogens on the A4, my previous car had xenon. While the halogens on the A4 are surprisingly good, they still do not compare to xenons and are something I am constantly debating changing.

My headlights are obviously a question of functionality foremost, the other half is cosmetic. They can make and break the look of any car. Xenons or nothing for me, anyway you put it.

as for the people behind me with halogens... it's never bothered me since my auto dimming mirrors trumps them all.

All that aside, I know that had nothing to do with your question, just thought I'd spit out something headlight related.

I just changed these, last night in fact. Stock halogen to stock bi-xenon. The difference is incredible. Driving home last night, I could see infinitely better what was in front of me. Safety -- check. The car looks more proper with the projector headlights as well. Entry-level luxury should come with some kind of projector-type setup; the halogen looks ugly IMO. Looks -- check. Frankly, this has been my favorite mod so far.

People that put drop-in HID kits into reflector housings, or don't adjust their headlights correctly, earn zero sympathy from me.

For the people with halogens, willing to work a little and not spend a ton on OEM bixenons, morimoto mini H1 bixenon retrofit. Spectacular increase in visibility.
For people with trucks and HIDs, without projectors behind you, auto dim mirror+rear fogs.
For people with HIDs, without projectors in front of you, High beams + turn ON the interior lights + middle finger.

The B7 with halogens looks horrible and they really cheapen the look of the car drastically, IMO. While the lighting is greatly improved with the bixenons, it's mostly a cosmetic thing.

To answer your question, it's not like people [with normal vision] are struggling to see the road with the stock halogens...

Did you ever finish yours and post a DIY? Sorry if I missed it, last I saw you were working on wiring if I remember correctly.

I haven't driven in an a4 with stock bi-xenons, but I put in phills bi-xenons with sti lens upgrade and easily one of the best upgrades I've done. Makes you feel like you were driving with your lights off with the halogens. I won't contemplate that upgrade again for future cars.

I know there are a lot of people out there who are really into their headlight situation. Yes, go on.

They retrofit, or search out cars with specific headlights, Xenons, Halogens, BiXenons, HID's, Ecodes..............yadda yadda yadda...................... Uh huh.

Its all good, people like what they like--more power to em! f*ck yeah!

I see these threads and skip. Huh? [confused]

My question is..........how many out there are like me that could give a __________ what is in there as long as I can see and they work properly. If that is supposed to be a question, then 12. 12 people.

Maybe it is a eye condition thing? mmmm no.

I see fine at night, but my girlfriend doesnt see the best in the evening. Rule 22

How many of those same people who dont care about their type of headlights are also the same ones that are annoyed when someone rolls up behind em, almost blinding them with some annoying special super headlight unit? Only 4 of 12. Sad.

Just curious.

Seriously dude. Rule 22.

We don't enforce that rule enough. We have let too many people get by with it.

Rule 22 is the only potentially positive thing that can come from a thread like this. A stand must be made.

I completed the retrofit about a month ago and have been driving with them happily. Just need to rotate the projector a little to make the beam straight, now the weather has finally warmed up, I might just rotate it tomorrow. I have started typing a DIY. Once I have all the pictures in sequence I will post it. It's not as scary as many think it to be. Just a little time consuming.
