Does anyone know how many times Audi will replace the parts under the recall? If you have had the follower replaced once along with the HPFP and Cam, and your under the 120k and within the 10 years will they do it again at AOA costs-? [confused] I am the second owner and all recalls have been done on this Audi, but there is wear on the parts, and if they are still responsible I would love to have it done at a dealer-
Anyone have this done twice?[wrench]

Its not a recall. Its an extended warranty. If the part is damaged and fails, the extended warranty is what covers it.

Edit: call audi of america and give them your vin#. They'll tell you if your car is even covered under the warranty.

I believe they will honor the tbs only once. They might help you with the cost but I wouldn't count on it.

ONCE.
I have confirmed with AoA two times.

There's wear on the follower or the cam as well?

We've been doing a fair amount of these lately - it does seem that Audi is only covering them under warranty once. OP, if you need a shop to replace it, we're not that far away.

Sounds like you need to be checking that follower more often ^_^

Thanks, this is my 3rd A4 with the 2.0T- my 06 has 230k on it so I am quit familiar with wrenching on it- my OP was due to the fact the the original owner was not sure if that was done- I pulled it this weekend and sure as @$I% it is worn- 94k on this one - replaced it after confirming no further wear on HPFP and Cam (whew!) so I will be on top of it every 20K-
But thanks for the reply!

Sounds like you know what you are doing! Glad you don't have any damage to the HPFP or cam. I had mine replaced a few weeks ago and I also have zero damage to the cam, cam lobe or HPFP. Whew is right! This is certainly a necessary maintenance item.
