Hello!
Got new tires about a year ago and the front ones are completely bald now. I realize my cars suspension probably hasn't been touched since it came off the lot. I have a S-Line 2006 A4 2.0T and i wanna replace the shocks cause its riding a little rough right now. I want to get some sport spring to lower it a little though, but do i have to get a certain kind of shocks or can i just some replacement ones?
Keep in mind i'm a broke college student working at a parts distributor. So i get discount on parts (KYB and Monroe).
So im trying to find the cheapest way possible, thanks everyone!

I'm in for answers too, I have a 2006 b7 a4, I can't tell what suspension I have, sport or regular? I have the 3 spoke steering wheel with sport leather, fishscale trim, 17" split 5 spokes, homelink, heated front seats, can anybody tell me if I have the sport suspension?

My tire wear issues were solved with new control arms. Still running the factory shocks at 162k.

could this be the cause of my tires being cupped?

The Sline shocks are Red. You should be able to look at the rear shocks and see the color. If they are red, then yes. Black, then no. BTW, how do you like the Pioneer avic d3 navigation system? I've been looking into my audio options since I have an Sline with the absolute minimum options...

My shocks are fine. S-lines use S4 shocks so they are overdampned for the weight and ride height of the car.

Oh gotcha, and I love it! Its a little old but still works great, I'm not sure if there's a way to update it or anything, it has all the options, Bluetooth, Navigation, sirius xm radio, the navigation takes some time getting used to but other than that it's great

Sorry if my question is confusing, i just wanna replace my suspension cause the car rides rough, but i like my car at the Height it is at right now cause its S-line. So im asking if i buy say a Monroe or KYB replacement strut would it change the height of my car? or no?

Get ORB or ST coilovers. They are 400 and 600-700 respectively and you get shocks and springs ! Main thing about coilovers is you get to adjust height your liking. If you get better brands like Koni you can adjust dampening aswm well.

I would think that raising or lowering it would be a spring issue.....
I have stock sport suspension. I just got some Bilstein Sports and want to drop it like 1/2" more than the stock sport springs---what springs would help me accomplish this? Tein? H&R? Eibach? Thoughts? I tried looking in the B& Wiki but its not working

H&R sports are the perfect height imo.

Shocks will not change your ride height. Buy whichever brand you prefer. I put KYB shocks on my truck years ago and had no complaints. Your tire wear issue is likely due to worn control arms and/or an alignment issue. I would refresh your entire front while doing your shocks. FCP Euro has a really good price on a full set in the vendor group buy section. I'm running them and they have performed amazingly over ~20k miles so far.
