2004 Allroad, 6mt, 65k miles (http://www.panjo.com/buy/2004-allroad-6mt-65k-miles-185912)

2004 Allroad, 6MT, 65k, Needs work
I was going to buy this car and travelled to CT to buy it. I found out that it needs a clutch, the airbag light is on and there are some other wear and tear items. Front airbags, one height sensor, and arnott compressor are new.

PM me for additional details and contact info for the seller.
I'm out a significant amount of money because the seller and local shop did not disclose these details.
That said, I'd like to see a fellow enthusiast have an opportunity to get a good deal. I already have a very nice AR and didnt want to put a significant amount of $ into this AR.

List Date: 3/5/2015
Location: Connecticut, United States

Yeap,I talked to this guy,he's asking $8.5k for it...I'm still debating is it worth it,but then I saw engine bay pic that he send me...http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/06/16139563597322ade0839611b1f8b028.jpg
Looks to me like it was flooded or something...poor allroad...I wish he would go lower on the price, but he was clear there's not a lot room for play.

So Dass did you drive it,how did it feel?

The suspension felt good, better than my AR, but it was clear that there was an issue as soon as I pulled out of the gas station parking lot. Given little throttle, it accelerates slowly. Given more than 10% throttle, the rpm's shoot up past 4k and slowly lower as the clutch grips. When the clutch held, it felt fine. The timing belt service has not been performed.

It needs a clutch, the timing belt service, the airbag light is on, and there are some other wear and tear items that need to be addressed.
It has had water intrusion issues that have been addressed twice. I saw a receipt for one instance.

Front airbags, one height sensor, and arnott compressor are new.

Cosmetically, there are issues. PM me with your email address if you want additional pictures that were taken a couple of weeks ago, and a couple from Tuesday.

This car is not worth $8k. The agreed upon price was less than that amount. After I found out about the clutch and airbag which were known but not disclosed, I felt it was worth far less.

I think this guy is going to be sitting on that car for a while. Between the clutch, the upcoming timing belt, unknown airbag fault and miscellaneous other issues, that car should sell for maybe $4500. If the owner did all the work and cleaned it up, it would be an $8K or 9K car, and would sell quickly.

However, if his shop has addressed the water intrusion issues *twice* I'd wonder about their Audi expertise. Sounds like they didn't do it right the first time (and my bet is on the windshield trim as the culprit.)

Wonder if that means he's taking care of the clutch and other issues.

I was wrong. I didn't see the original posting date. He started at $10k.

Yeap,he started at $10k that's when I saw that unicorn in adds for the first time and he really tries to sell it for big money, closer to that figure than $5k mark, with all of those issues,to someone who doesn't know anything about cars.
I was about to fly from IL to CT to see it,I offered $8k if everything is ok,but just in time I saw Das post about it and I was saved.Loosing money & time over nothing would really get me angry and but hurt.
Thank you Das and thank you Audizine this is truly what this forum should be all about, helping each other's as enthusiast and having fun,not f-in arguing and measuring who can piss longer.
