For those of you using eurocode short shifter do you notice a clicking noise shifting from 1st to 2nd gear ...not sure of it was always there buy noticed today... it is very similar to the clicking noise that happens when you shift back from reverse which I know is normal

+1
Is this a new installation? If so, I'd say it's an alignment issue. Maybe it's a lubricant issue since I belive they're suppose to be lubed every year?

the clicking noise is not there from 1st to 2nd ... somehow vanished and now getting the issue of reverse gear not falling into the grove smoothly , not necessarily when engine is cold, happens after car is driven for a while and today in office parking had to try multiple times before i could shift it to reverse. Did speak with eurotech folks about clicking noise and was asked to get the bearing lubricated... if thats the case its expensive to maintain because the tech will charge me to do so every year !! Love the shifter but not liking the maintenence piece ... what are your thoughts
Have put on 14k miles on the short shifter

You can lube it yourself, pretty sure the boot just has to be removed which takes 10 seconds.

i am told the shifter needs to be taken apart to take out the bearing to be lubricated

Did Eurocode tell you that? I thought I remembered another thread on the topic and Eurocode said you could lube the bearing from the top with just the boot pulled up. Maybe I was wrong. If you do have to remove the ball, it still shouldn't be too hard. I'd assume you could leave the linkage connected so no need to get under the car.

I can't remember, the thread was quite awhile ago. If you don't mind keeping this thread up to date with whatever you find out, I'd greatly appreciate it as I'm sure I'll be looking at the same issue at some point in the near future.

I have big problems from today, the shifter does not need to be pushed down and left to go to reverse, instead if i shift all the way left it hits reverse and engagment to 1st and 2nd feels very loose and no tight as before.. could this be a eurcode issue or shifter issue?

Thanks OP for creating and updating this thread. I am following along closely, as I have a Eurocode short shifter kit sitting in my garage and was planning to install it once the weather warms up. I may end up installing the Roc Euro short shift linkage instead. The prospect of removing the carbon center console trim and then having to subsequently maintain the bearing in the Eurocode shifter is leaving me a bit cold on it. Plus the issues you are reporting are unsettling.
In for more updates, and good luck getting your issues resolved!

Honestly the shifter is amazing and shifts are very crisp and short just the way i want it. its been 2 yrs with the shifter and strongly recommend it but unfortunately i am having some issues lately which i hope to get full support from eurocode folks as i believe it has life time warranty

It's always a gray area with these aftermarket parts, like I'm sure Eurocode will support the product but likely would not cover shop charges to diagnose problems. Reminds me of the issues that have popped up with the AWE resonated downpipes that would start rattling - AWE would replace the parts at no cost to the Customer, but the Customer had to pay a shop ~1-2 hours worth of labor to swap them out. I understand that the alternative is for the aftermarket parts company to abandon the Customer, so this is a good middle ground resolution, but it's still not ideal. Pay to play, I suppose....then pay some more to keep playing.
