Hi guys,

just got a 2015 6MT S4 10 days ago, black, what a car! I was on my first tank of gas when I got a VAG-COM cable by mail, because I really hate how the cptr controls the parking brake.

Long story short, I cannot change the VCDS value for releasing the parking brake because I do not have the security access code; it says (Enter code presented by program). What a bummer!

Can anyone help! Please!!![confused]
How do I get this code? I saw looking at Service Manuals, but i couldnt find one online
thx, this community seems like a great one.

See below:

Enable Release Parking Brake without putting foot on Brake
[53 - Parking Brake][Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program)
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 4 Set to 0

It should work. It worked for me on my 14. did you type it in correctly. What you mean you hate how the computer controls how it operates the parking brake. Its an electric parking brake and its safety reasons why it is the way it is. Just run over the program again and make sure you read it carefully. I know i screwed up with the nav security access a few times till i got it right

vcds usually tells you the code, if not update to the latest version (if you have a legit cable - if not on your own)

[53 - Parking Brake][Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program)

once you go to 53 then 16 it should tell you what the code is when you click on security access, then just enter it - it if doesn't try this - others have had luck with it 78713

so the hidden MMI menu allows tweaking parking brake parameters? wow, wasnt expecting that.

Thanks guys, I will try what you guys mention and will let you know how it goes.

so i've enabled the hidden menu but I dont think there are instructions out there that allow to tweak the parking brake that way. So i didnt do it.

The 78713 security code worked! Thx

But in the Adaptation-10 menu, the online instructions about Channel 4 are awkward. VCDS asks for 'select Channel' but there is a pick list of 35+ items (channels?) and the 4th one is 'Activating and deactivating all development messages ECU specific...' which doesnt match the description of what im trying to accomplish.

The 35+ picklist is in my Photo Gallery on the left

Help greatly appreciated!

Very sorry to bring back such an old thread but can anyone shed some light on the changes to VCDS that have taken place since most of these guides were written? The Channels listed and the interface there has changed and now just has a long list of options with no clear channel designation. I'd love to be able to enable the two parking brake release features, seatbelt and brakes.
