So I decided to take out my stereo today to get a good look at the wires. When i purchased the car, it had a ipod connector hooked to the factory head unit. I pulled that out along with the subwoofer wiring that ran into the trunk. I then decided to remove some sort of fabric tape that was holding the stereo wires together behind the dash. The fabric looked OEM but something told me to remove it. Once i started to unravel it i found a medium sized brown wire spliced into a tiny black wire, and a extra tiny black wire that had been cut. I have many pictures here, Can anybody make any sense of this?

I also have a tiny little OEM connector that connects a brown wire going in to 1 end, to a purple wire coming out the other end (cd ground). But the connector looks like it has a spot for 2 wires and im not sure if im missing anything there?

I also have a tiny brown/white stripe wire all by itself (red crimp on end). I know that 1 of the browns is supposed to go to the back of the headunit for a ground, but im not sure if this is the right wire or not...

Here are a few pics of the rest of the wiring

So i have come to a few conclusions..

Picture 1: I still have no idea what is going on with the medium thick brown wire or the 2 skinny black wires...

Picture 2: This is correct and only supposed to have the 1 brown wire connected to the 1 purple wire...

Picture 3: This is the ground wire thats supposed to connect all by itself to the back of the headunit...

So i stripped some of the rubber off the stray wire in the 1st pic. There was no metal wire inside the rubber, it was just like the insulation or something. kinda reminded me of the bristles on a paint brush...

Audi intended for the Symphony system to paint you pictures as you listen to music. Lol

it would help if any of those were relevant... i checked that before posting here and the majority of those are engine and emissions diagrams... the few that are actually the symphony pinout i have the same sticker on my headunit. It appears that i have all the proper wires in my harness connectors. i just cant find where the other end of those cut wires go, if anywhere
