Good-Bye to My B8.5 ------ its been fun -------

So the time has come for me to move on from my B8.5 S4. I wanted to make a thread to thank everyone on here that shared their knowledge, opinions and entertainment over the past few years.

My S4 journey started when I placed my pre-order for one of the first facelift 2013 S4s to hit the GTA. I wanted to order a 2013, but didn't want to wait. The day I sold my previous 335i (February 2012) I tried to get into a 2012, there was just nothing out there with the options/colors I wanted. So in went an order for the 2013 B8.5. Didn't even know what the car looked like, but I liked the B8 so much that I figured Audi could only improve on it. Thankfully I was right! Every change for the B8.5 was welcomed imo!

Ive had the car now for about 2.5 years. LOVED every second of it. A few sets of wheels, countless modifications, one track day and 32,000km later I'm ready to say goodbye. The AWD system will be missed in the winter for sure! Going through my second winter with it right now, its a dream!

The S4 was my first brand new, factory ordered car. Took 5 months to get and was worth the wait! I planned to keep the car for 5ish years, but we all know how that goes lol. I had my shopping list narrowed down to 3 cars, of course leaving a spot open for the B9 S4. After seeing camo pics and renderings of the B9 I crossed that out as a possibility. Two weeks ago I signed the papers for my new car

Lucky for me, I'll be able to finish off the winter with my awd car with my new estimated to arrived April/May (March build).

I though Id share some pics of my car through its stages.

Again, thank you to everyone on here that Ive met and shared with. I'm sure I'll be back in the Audi world eventually... we'll see what the new R8 brings to the table...

Catch Car looked great...one question to you or anyone who can relate in regards the H&R super sports. Is there any rubbing with the stock wheels 19's? Reason I ask im in the fence between the Sports or super sports i will like some feedback. Thanks

Thanks! I would say go sport, you'll be happy. The SuperSports wont rub on stock, but the one thing that bothered me about them is the rear is lower then the front. The front sport springs are the same as the super sport fronts. The rear is half an inch lower. good luck with the decision

I just saw a new M3 in person for the first time last weekend. I was very impressed. If it was AWD it would be a game changer. If Audi goes away from manual transmissions, I might have to pony up the dough for a BMW next time around.

I wanted a Sakhir orange M4 with carbon fiber roof, but had to special order it.

I really can't wait 2-3 months so I decided to go with Alpine white with CF roof/mirror caps.

The car arrives from Dallas Wednesday.

The BMW F80/82 is far superior to the S4 and to the RS5 and this is coming from an Audi fanboy. My dealer tried to convince me to hop in a new RS5, but it can't compete.

Drive both and you'll know why quickly. Audi is behind right now and will be for the next 2-3 years maybe until their new RS cars come out.

Seeing the M in person really is what sealed the deal for me with it too! In pictures I like the M4 a lot more. In person, the M4 is nice but didn't have that wow factor for me. Then I saw that fat rear fenders on the M3... and well here we are :) :)

The wait dosent bother me. I waited 5 months for the S4, so 3 months for the M3 sucks, but its ok.

As for drive M3 to S4, I cant really compare because I haven't driven the M3 yet, but the two cars aren't in the same class imo. The S4 and the 335 are more comparable Id say. I had a 335 before the S4 and loved it. Id say Audi and BMW while competing are building cars that are just different. I hold the S4 a little higher then the 335, but the M3 a little higher then the RS5. One thing that bothers me about the RS is that the interior is the same as the S cars, same seats ect. The M feels a little more special then the RS does when you compare to their lower (in price) siblings.

And to answer a few more comments:

I am actually excited to drive it in the winter. I love RWD! The S4 has been fantastic through our winters for sure, but its my first AWD car and I've never had an issue with any of my previous cars :)

The M3 is manual! I'm worried for the day manual becomes a thing of the past in all cars. Its already started at the higher end with the new R8, Rarris, Lambos, Porsche Turbos... I'll take a manual over an auto (dsg, smg, s-tronc, pdk ect) any day!
