Might seem like a dumb question but the stock all-seasons really suck in the snow and with winter almost over, figured I might just get two sets of wheels. So does anyone use 225/40/18 tires on their S4? Trying to use narrower winter tires on the stock wheels. I know it will throw off the speedometer but will it cause any error lights to come on?

i thought stock tire size on the 18s was 225/40?
either way, it shouldnt cause any issues as far as throwing a code.

225/40 is within 3% of the stock 245/40 which is what it needs to be so the speedo and other systems dont freak out, the 225 will be fine as long as the load is 93 or better.

Stock is 245/40 R18
If you do 225, you'll be fine, but consider going to a 225/45 R18

+1 on the 225/45/18, 225/40 does not meet the load range minimum.

I went with the 225 45s on my stock 18s. work great and zero rub and the tires sit pretty square on the rims.

Running Dunlop Wintersport 4D in 225/45/18. It's nice having a higher sidewall for the lousy NJ roads in the winter and grip is not compromised.
