Nokian WR series

There's so many threads on winter tires and I haven't seen really anything on the Nokian WR's. Make a long story short, I called Nokian to find a dealer by me and ended up talking to their NA sales guy for a while and got some info on the tires they sell, and decided to go with the WR's over the Hakk's. Let me tell you, I couldn't have made a better choice. They're not loud like other snow tires I've driven on in the past, the sidewalls are pretty stiff too. ( they are not super sloppy on turns or at highway speeds) You just have to tone your driving down on them in the dry weather. Yesterday here in Chicago we got 15" of snow, had zero problems on them. Car stops with out sliding, takes off perfect, over all I couldn't be any happier with them, these things crushed the Dunlop's I ran last year.

when i was shopping tires, i called my local nokian dealer about the WR series and he suggested against them. Gets too many complaints about the road noise.

That's odd, I have zero road noise. I have maybe 5,000 miles on them too.

Which WR model did you get? My wife has WR's cuz she said there's no way she's going to switch tires bw seasons, but I have to say the blizzaks that I just tried out today beat anything i've tried including the nokian's. (I'm also in chicago)

It is really gratifying to see all these SUV's stuck, but I'm just cruisin along in my A4. :)

I ended up finding the WRG2's so I went with them. Yesterday I had to run out and get my puppy a coat during the storm, which my neighbor got stuck in her ML and told me I shouldn't try going anywhere, I laughed and took off on my mission for a dog coat with out an issue. HA!
