I will need to act fast if I am going to buy something online, like tonight so it ships tomorrow and I receive by next weekend. Time is of the essence here so I can turn the A8 around ASAP and revive my bank account.

I am thinking about this set here- http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEIN-STECH-AUDI-S4-98-02-B5S-LOWERING-SPRINGS-SKG08-AUB00-/121555254719?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c4d41fdbf&vxp=mtr

$120 for 1.5 drop S4 springs.

The good- They include all four springs for a decent price from a known company.

The bad- Not positive, here. How will the car be effected by using S4 springs? I'm guessing the rear won't make a huge difference since the weight isn't too different. The front has me a little iffy, though. Since the S4 engine weighs more and they are made for S4, how much difference will it make?

I'm in a tough spot here. I need cheap and fast, two things that usually don't go together. The front springs on the Avant are intact, the rears are not. I might as well go with lowering springs while I am at it. And $120 isn't too bad. If you have any better ideas, let me hear them please.

I would think you'd experience reverse rake since the 2.7 is a good deal heavier than the 1.8.

I wouldn't do it

Even with the 1.5 drop?

Even with the 1.5 drop.

It's possible that your reverse rake would be minimal, but the potential for it to be much worse is very prevalent.

What do I know? I just bought coilovers lol

What are your goals?

Conservative drop?

Prefer spring/shock over coils?

My goal are to get the car drivable. The rear springs are broke.

Completely? As in they broke in the middle, or the typical bottom snaps?

If it's just to get it going again, and looks aren't your thing for now then jump on it.

Can't go wrong for $120

Bottom and tops broke. They are junk. Not willing to get a bad look though. The thing is if I can't find something online soon, I will need to find something locally. And I need this car operational by next week

Local pick'n pull. That would be my next bet, or a part out.

I may be interested. I'm gonna see what some locals have to say. If I can't find anything would you mind shipping to MN?

Did you message that guy on vortex?

I decided not to. $100 isn't terrible but I could get tein lowering springs on all corners for slightly more. And I am sure I can find something locally, not sure when. I will take wolveren up on his offer If I don't have anything coming later on

Disaster averted. Looks like I found a pair locally for $50. Good enough for me

I think even my H&R springs, which say they're for all engines, were designed for the 2.8/2.7t because I'd had reverse rake ever since I dropped a 1.8t in.

Good thing you found a proper pair, reverse rake is annoying.
