Bottom seat heater fix?

I noticed this week that the bottom part of my seat heater (drivers side) isn't working. The back is working fine.
On a maintenance, I asked them to check it and give me a quote. Turns out they need to replace the "heating grid" at $750.

Has anyone else had this happen to one or another part of their seat heater and come up with a solution?

My passenger one wasn't working and then it was again randomly. So no idea. You can buy the part on eBay for like 200$ and have an upholstery shop do it possibly cheaper.
