Maybe i'm just getting tired of the sight drone in 7th gear. I currently have an APR exhaust. I have already had it adjusted twice for vibration issues due to it "settling". Lately i notice a weird vibration/drone in second gear around 900-1200 rpm under load. Also 7th gear. Best way to describe it is that my seat turns into a massage chair on low setting.
has anyone else experienced this? I find it hard to believe i have to take it back to get readjusted for a 3rd time. I'm not sure if this is just expected drone/vibration. Thoughts? Oh and this exhaust has around 2k miles on it. Should be more than "broken in" at this point.
Awe dsg owners, how's the drone/vibration? I can't really tell from any of the videos i have found.

Yup same here., it's annoying and embarrassing. Need to go back for a 4th time to adjust and fix rattles. I'll be looking for a replacement since I'm not the original owner and I have no warranty coverage. They said it sounded like something inside the drivers side muffler failed.

Interesting. I mean, i absolutely love the sound, but this rattle/vibration, yeah it's a little embarrassing.

I was thinking it might be the roc euro heatshield since i recently had to readjust it to fix a rattle from that area, but i doubt that would cause such a vibration.

Mine is actually fine. I'm running 90mm AWE Catback with stock DPs and, while the drone could be a little less, I would rather have the volume and deal with a bit of highway drone. As for rattles, even the simplest stuff will rattle so make sure it's secure. Common culprits: rear middle armrest (just pull it down instead of leaving it up), sunglasses or other plastic items in the cupholder, water bottles in the door, change in the glovebox or centre console.
Check all that out first before you think all is lost.

Well it's not a rattle in the cabin. I literally have nothing inside except my valentine. And i already removed it to make sure it wasn't causing any vibrations. i'm very anal about random crap in my car. Especially loose change. The vibration i feel and hear is definitely more Metal on Metal action.

Make sure the exhaust hanger bolts are tight, mine came loose once and produced some really bad vibration. Also make sure the downpipe bolts at the flange are tight.

I have a Milltek exhaust and after my installer put it on the car, he put tack welds on numerous spots to hold it all together tighter...

Guess i'll schedule another appointment to get readjusted. *sigh* all this back and forth from the shop almost makes me want to go back to stock.
Anyone running awe, did you have to get readjusted multiple times? I can understand once just for break in and settling reasons, but going onto my 3 or 4th time (can't remember) kind of annoying at this point.

I've never had rattles with my APR/Corsa exhaust, but the tuner shop forgot one bolt near the cats and that caused a cel, audi took it off and put it back on, no problems since.

My AWE has about 800 miles on it, so not a lot, but haven't noticed anything yet. I'm going to have them double check everything in 2k miles at my oil change.

I have 12,000 miles on my AWE exhaust and it doesn't make a (bad) sound!!

Here is an honest review. I have a 2014 DSG with AWE touring exhaust with resonated down pipes. I had no fitment issues when installing it. It was close when going around the diff. And you have to space out the brace under the car that goes under the transmission tunnel with 4 washers under the bracket to move it down a little. Other than that, it took about 2 hours tops to remove factory exhaust install awe exhaust and adjust it to make it look correct.
Drive quality. The exhaust sounds amazing. However, there is a spot in the rpm band where it does drone though. But its not bad and your never going to be at that rpm during cruising or normal driving anyways. The drone is at a little over 2000 rpm and stops at about 2150 rpm. Its exhaust drone and not grounding out or anything like that. I think thats where the cams start to come in on the engine. But I never cruise there or normal driving it never sits at that rpm. So its not a nucence at all. I really don't pay attention to it anymore. Cruising rpm on hwy is about 1500-1700 depending on speed.
End of the story. I love this exhaust. Its awesome. I however don't like the price tag one bit. If i didn't get this exhaust at a massive deal from a fellow Azer, I would not buy this outright. Sorry its just not worth the money. I would of done the custom X pipe job due to cost.

What speed are you cruising at? 120km/h in my 2012 is about 2100rpm, which would be right in the "Drone zone" according to your post. Did they change the DSG transmissions between B8-B8.5?

I really don't know. Some people on here have mentioned that the gearing did change from b8 to 8.5. I have no clue how true that is. i'll be taking it into the shop this week. hopefully the last adjustment it will ever need. And if not, i'll be shopping around for something else.
