View Full Version : RS7: Does the Non-Sport Exhaust make most of the same nice sounds as the Sport?

I have driven the RS7 with the Sport Exhaust and I love the sound it makes in "S" at idle plus the various pops and gurgles it makes on upshifts and downshifts. I have not driven an RS7 with the standard exhaust.
Here in Canada the Sport Exhaust was previously available as a standalone option for $1K but for 2016 it is now only available as part of the Performance Package (DRC, Dynamic Steering, Red Brake Calipers & Sport Exhaust) for $4.1K.
I have read the posts that talk about DRC vs. airbags and am not sure that I want DRC.
I look forward to your comments.
Thanks

Not 100% true. It is also available with the carbon optic package. How'd I know? Just ordered it. :)
I have no idea if non sport sounds as good because Ive never heard it Love the sport exhaust sound so I'm doing it again. Easiest decision IMO.

Thanks. I hadn't looked at the Carbon Optic package contents so didn't realize it was there. I presume you ordered the quattro script again and are going to mount your front plate the same way.

In the states, it is required for you to order it with the carbon optics package so i know it is a stand alone option as well!

It is.not a stand-alone option as op states in beginning.

You guys get it really rough up there. Not only you have to pay more for the same car but also have to take other stuffs that you may not want to get what you really want.
With that being said, I actually love carbon optic package though lol

yeah, life is tough up here ordering RS7s. i really don't know how we survive. ;)
compared to the UK or germany we all get the shaft. everything there is a la carte on top of things we can't even get here. ceramic brakes, oh how i would love to order them but alas, no dice still for 2016.

they changed the order guide for 2016 so now you can only get sport exhaust with either of the two packages. i don't think it was included with the optics package in prior years, they wouldn't have charge you twice i'm sure. they also removed alcantara headliner as an option because presumably no-one was ordering it...argh. i was ready to plunk down for that nice headliner...oh well. they're saving me money.

Yeah the headliner required some thought... Damn that was a lot of money for $50 in fabric...

no kidding, kinda chokes me it's not standard equipment on the rs7. the E63 AMG sedan/wagon gets it on the base model as well as a nice flat top/bottom alcantara wheel.

For MY 2015 the Carbon Optics Package was $3.8K and the sport exhaust was a mandatory $1K option. Sport exhaust was included in the Performance Package at $4.1K, so hopefully you weren't charged twice.
For MY 2016 the sport exhaust is standard in both packages (Carbon Optics now costs $4.8K and Performance is still $4.1K) so I would hope that the MSRP would be reduced by $1K for a person who buys a car with both packages.
