Also, would you happen to know what color the quattro inscription is on the RS7 grille? It looks like a gray. I installed the black gloss grille on my Quartz A7 w/"quattro" and am not sold on going with the stock chrome rings up front.

How much is the cosmetic package for the 2013 S7 in gloss.

I installed the front and rear rings on my S6 about 10 days ago. The front takes about five minutes. Get a pair of tin snips (they look like large wire cutters) and place the cutting head about 3/4ths of the way down the ring and then cut it. The rest of the ring at the cutting point breaks on it's own and you don't mar the plastic surface underneath. It takes about ten cuts (look at the new ring you are installing and cut on either side of the plastic clip points.) You can pull the ring parts off with your fingers. The front emblem simply snaps in at that point and you're done. (People who are trying to remove these things from behind to save them are no doubt industrious, but also out of their minds. The Audi OEM part is a little over $50 if you ever want to go back to the chrome.)

The rear is held on by 3M tape, which is some hearty stuff. First take automotive masking tape (household blue painter's tape may do the job, but doesn't stick as well) and run a line of it exactly at the bottom of the rings. Then run a line on the left or right edge of the rings so when you remove the emblem you can use the tape as a marker to attach the new emblem. You need to heat up the emblem with a hair drier or a heat gun (don't overdo it with the temp setting on a heat gun or the paint will bubble) and use fishing line or heavy duty dental floss and start on the left or right side and pull back and forth to cut through the softened tape. Once the old emblem is off, you will have the not so fun task of removing the leftover adhesive and tape on the car. I used Goo Gone and my fingernails because I didn't have plastic safety blades (they look like plastic razor blades.) Whatever you do DON'T get near the finish with anything that could scratch it. Once the major portion of the adhesive and tape is removed, squirt Goo Gone on a clean (preferably microfiber) towel and dab the residue to keep it moist for several minutes. It will then wipe off. When the finish is free of the residue, clean the goo gone off with mild soap and water then dry and apply the new ring emblem using the masking tape as a guide.

Also, before mounting the emblem check the paint on the Tag-supplied rings to make sure it will hold. I am awaiting a replacement for the rear ring because they did not fully scuff the crevices in two points for paint adhesion and the first time I washed it the paint just fell right off. Needless to say, I'm really unhappy I've got to spend another 45 minutes removing and mounting the rear emblem. On the other hand, I've not seen complaints from others about this so I assume it's not a common issue.

They look light years better on a black car than the chrome.

These guys do a good job preparing the badges for the new paint, and then they paint on the red for the S logo afterward. They look great.

I don't really like the blacked out ring look on the black grill, but the first RS7 is more of a metallic grey look and they still stand out. If we added the red back into the emblems I think it would look good with my Nogaro Blue.

Are you meaning on the Daytona Grey car? They are body color. In black we typically use the satin to contrast the gloss RS Grill so as not to lose it. We can offer just about any color on the grill rings that you prefer however!

I installed the front and rear rings on my S6 about 10 days ago. The front takes about five minutes. Get a pair of tin snips (they look like large wire cutters) and place the cutting head about 3/4ths of the way down the ring and then cut it. The rest of the ring at the cutting point breaks on it's own and you don't mar the plastic surface underneath. It takes about ten cuts (look at the new ring you are installing and cut on either side of the plastic clip points.) You can pull the ring parts off with your fingers. The front emblem simply snaps in at that point and you're done. (People who are trying to remove these things from behind to save them are no doubt industrious, but also out of their minds. The Audi OEM part is a little over $50 if you ever want to go back to the chrome.)

The rear is held on by 3M tape, which is some hearty stuff. First take automotive masking tape (household blue painter's tape may do the job, but doesn't stick as well) and run a line of it exactly at the bottom of the rings. Then run a line on the left or right edge of the rings so when you remove the emblem you can use the tape as a marker to attach the new emblem. You need to heat up the emblem with a hair drier or a heat gun (don't overdo it with the temp setting on a heat gun or the paint will bubble) and use fishing line or heavy duty dental floss and start on the left or right side and pull back and forth to cut through the softened tape. Once the old emblem is off, you will have the not so fun task of removing the leftover adhesive and tape on the car. I used Goo Gone and my fingernails because I didn't have plastic safety blades (they look like plastic razor blades.) Whatever you do DON'T get near the finish with anything that could scratch it. Once the major portion of the adhesive and tape is removed, squirt Goo Gone on a clean (preferably microfiber) towel and dab the residue to keep it moist for several minutes. It will then wipe off. When the finish is free of the residue, clean the goo gone off with mild soap and water then dry and apply the new ring emblem using the masking tape as a guide.

Also, before mounting the emblem check the paint on the Tag-supplied rings to make sure it will hold. I am awaiting a replacement for the rear ring because they did not fully scuff the crevices in two points for paint adhesion and the first time I washed it the paint just fell right off. Needless to say, I'm really unhappy I've got to spend another 45 minutes removing and mounting the rear emblem. On the other hand, I've not seen complaints from others about this so I assume it's not a common issue.

They look light years better on a black car than the chrome.

Thanks for the tips am planning on doing this over the weekend and you convinced me to sacrifice the front rings. I agree if I ever want to change back I can pick up a new set.

Just got my gloss black rings. Hopefully the paint holds up well.
