well I have a buddy that works at the stealership with me he just went to a fancy tuning school in Jacksonville Florida and the program they gave him to use is for LS motors and he agreed that if I got the program he would tinker with it and when he got comfortable with it he would tune my car for free and continue to tune it as I progress with building my car so my question is what program can I get that would allow him to do that?

Well, he could probably handle Maestro

Try nefmoto. Tons of info on there. Just need a $20 ebay cable.

Another good option, but the user interface with Maestro is awesome.

Look at it this way- $600 for an off the shelf tune. Change to a bigger turbo and that will be another $600. Maestro is unlimited reflashes and even includes the stage 1 file

Nefmoto is the cheapest tuning solution available for me7 (or me5 if you can map out the code, me7 has better support). Go to nefmoto.com all the info is there.

And he'll be able to tune other cars as well with little to cost to him other than time.

I forget exactly what you need for an me7. With the me5, just needed an mpps cable (ebay) and winols software (google where to download). Iirc nefmoto has a program specific for the me7.

Just a word of warning, WinOLS is the opposite of user friendly. My first few hours with it I felt like a monkey with a typewriter. Everything you need to know is on nefmoto, there's even a very decent stage 1 tune you can start with. Go to the newbie section and start reading is the best advice I can give, there's a lot of reading.
