View Full Version : new 1/4 mile time for me

Was able to run 12.605 at 112 mph tonight at LACR. That was on my very first run of the night, all the runs after that the traction just went to crap. My car just looked like a rwd car trying to launch on ice.

Was running 112 octane leaded race fuel all night, but just couldn't find the right combo to make it run right. Car would just misfire during the runs no matter how much timing I was running.

my results...

my best run:
60 ft ====== 2.044
1/8th ET === 9.784
1/8th mph == 69.987
1/4 ET ===== 15.452
1/4 mph === 86.172

my best trap:
60 ft ====== 2.105
1/8th ET === 9.842
1/8th mph == 70.275
1/4 ET ===== 15.490
1/4 mph === 86.975

i still think i could've hit 15.3s on the one with my good launch, i shifted out of 3rd a lil too early.

ah well, im happy, beat my time from last week by .6seconds.

by the end of this month im planning on running at SAC with mike after i get my milltek/test pipe installed and new chip. goals are under 2.0 60' times and under 14.5s

Mike I'm surprised you can't hit low 12s with your setup. What tires are you running? I know you said your boost is not up to par with what it should be, but any solutions to that?

Also, did you remove your interior at all?

Again, congrats for the new record time!

Thing is that the car should be in the low 12's if I run at a track anywhere near sea level, but this was done at LACR which sits at 2700 ft and adjusted alt is always at 3000+ ft. Last night there were a bunch of stock evo's and a few with bolt on mods, stocks were running in the 14's and the modded ones could not get below 13.8.

I always remove the top of the back seats when I run. Boost was set at 18psi off the line and 21psi for 3rd/4th gear. Was just having problems with the ecu pulling timing back even on the 112 octane fuel even though the car kept throwing misfire codes. So I dont know if I wasn't running enough timing or if the car was just running too rich on this fuel when the temps got cooler.

I plan on taking the car to SAC at the end of the month or the 1st week of next month, just to see what it can run up there on chip tuning. That will be my last track day on chip tuning.

Runnning 235/45/17 RA'1. Traction was good when they first started for the night, but once the temps came down everyone was having traction issues.

Yep, it will be stand alone time. Which means launch control, anti lag, no-lift-shifting and more boost.

So Mike, when you get to the gate and after they inspect your car do you ask them for race gas or whats the deal?

PS Amazing run bud

I envy you...lol Someday I'll be BT...not sure if it'll be APR Stage 3+ (assuming it will exist) or custom. If I go custom I'll have to decide between Unitronic and calling it a day...or Stand alone and always wanting to play with it. hehe

Well the race fuel might have helped push them along much faster since it would have caused your car to run a little richer. I am pretty sure now that there is room to play with the adv timing.

I think that was my issue at the track too, the 112 octane and not enough timing was causing my car to run way too rich and making it misfire on the runs. I should have removed some fuel with the lemmiwinks which was up 15% for unleaded fuel.
