View Full Version : Premium leather vs. regular leather seating options

Is this a european thing only? Audiusa.com says "premium leather" available with the 3.2, but not with the 2.0t. Both are available with "leather seating." I'm guessing a euro only thing.

I would assume this the "premium leather" they are talking about. I wish we could get this. So nice. [hail] Kinda like the s4 recaros. These are european model pics.

The door panels look almost alcantara in this pic. So do the middle of the seats.

EDIT: The 360 view on audiusa shows a 2.0t with those same seats... which I thought might be the "premium leather," but that isn't on an option on the 2.0t.

Soooo... in summation I still don't know what premium leather is and it seems like europe gets way better seats and leather than we do. [headbang]

Premium leather here in the States doesn't change the shape of the seats, they just use better leather and more of it. I believe the seats in your pics are European "sport seats".

The base leather seats are actually mostly fake leather, the only real leather parts are the pieces where you touch when you are sitting. I believe with premium leather it is a higher quality leather and they don't use any fake stuff -- the whole seat is leather. Also I believe that the door panels are real leather instead of the fake stuff.

Al ot of times, the more "premium" the leather, the quicker it wears. With the exception of the strong Recaro seats in the S4.

wow wow wow, hold the phone, how come my RNS-E doesnt look liek that when i come up to an intersection?

I think that is in "night mode" or whatever it's called. When in Nav, hit the setup button and your first option is "Map Scheme" -- choices are day, night, and auto.
