Just a few moments ago I was driving my car, while in 3rd shifting into 4th the engine revved up to 6500 rpms and stayed there after letting off the clutch. With my foot off gas and clutch in, shifter in neutral, the revs didnt drop. I immediately shut the car off. This happened twice. The first time it happened the rpms dropped back down after pushing in the clutch and coming to stop. Car is a 1.8t quattro 5spd with the ecs ra4 clutch kit.

Would really cold weather affect the throttle at all? Its currently 20 degrees here, and the last few days has been around 40-50 degrees and its drove fine.

did you scan for any codes?

you are DBC, id check out the the TB and cable to make sure they are somehow sticking causing your rev issue

is your gas pedal any harder to push than usual? I had moisture in my throttle cable that when it got really cold caused my gas pedal to stick in my old car, if your car is DBC which I'm assuming it is by your sig, also check the cruise control bellows and linkage.

I honestly didnt check codes. I pulled the tb off to clean it, it was pretty dirty. Checked the throttle cable and the plastic casing on it was cracked and coming off as well. Didnt notice any difference in the pedal. I deleted everything that has to do with the cruise control a long time ago.

My engine light stays on, lol. I just posted those really just to show there was no code for the throttle. I removed my post o2 sensor for my innovate wideband, the evap system was deleted from under the hood as well.

Took a quick video and it doesnt seem quite right how long the throttle seems to hang with a blip of the throttle cable. Took it for a drive and it still acts up a bit.
