Hey Guys,

Sorry for the newb post, but trying to learn some information on timing belt kits.

I'm rolling up on 160k, and due for getting my 2nd Tbelt done here in the next few months. I'm looking for the best / most reliable kit out there currently. It seems that there has been a lot of talk recently on failed water pumps, the following link being the latest example I found:

Anyway, I'm just looking for the best kit out there and what people have the best experience with thus far. As well as if there are kits to 100% avoid (using non-oem water pumps) to please highlight that information as well. TIA!

Thanks,
Asif

the ones from ecs and fcpeuro should work. they have lots of oem suppliers or german made parts.

I did the ecs with the gates racing Kevlar belt bc it's wasn't that much more expensive. Kit worked out great. I also got it with the proper pink/purple coolant

europaparts. Lower end of the price range and gave you the part number and manufacturer of each part of the kit, OEM or better. They also let you add or subtract elements, if you don't need or want them, but other parts suppliers offer this too.

ECS sells cheap tensioners, search before you buy and see who has issues. I just bought the OEM parts (not from the dealer) and never had an issue.
