I almost had this car for a year in feb and I did A LOT of driving since then. It had 53k on the clock when I bought it and I just passed 70k last week. Is there any major servicing coming up that I'm going to get a big bill for like a valve adjustment? How much would a 2011 with these kind of miles be worth? It has full leather seats, nav and the 7 speed duel clutch. Still have car payments on it. I always hated the fact that this car does not have the sport diff

It's nonsense to think about getting rid of it just because it has 70k on the clock. That said, getting rid of it for a sports-diff equipped car or because you want something else isn't a bad idea.

There is no crazy maintenance that needs to be done like a timing belt or valve adjustment. Just normal fluid changes and spark plugs I believe. That remains true for however long you own the car.

Ok that's good to hear. I've had a lot of experience with bmws and I know that certain ones past 120k had vanos issues. I wasn't sure if these S4 had some kind of mech issue bimmers do like if the superchargers go bad after awhile or not. But if that was the case I would want to sell the car while it's running.

I'm also not sure if there is a tipping point in the value. Like how much would it be worth less if it had 100k on it
All I do is dream about a sport diff...

Look on the bright side. If the supercharger ever goes bad, you can always upgrade to the Stage 3 from APRhttp://www.goldendovegallery.org/hide.gif

you caught me. I still have it. it has 49k on it and hasn't had a valve adjustment in forever. I've been told if I don't get the valves adjusted, I'm going to have a bad time. So she's sitting in the garage, valves ticking away until I can drop proper money and get it serviced.

how much hp would that bump me up to? a hammer might find it's way to the super charger some time soon if it can get me into the 500hp club hehe

Keep it, 70k isnt really considered "high mileage". There are s4s around with much more mileage then that, just keep up with the maintenance and you will be fine.

Are you not familiar with APR's Stage III Teaser thread?

You supposed to do the compressor belt and a DSG fluid flush at 75k. I would replace the aux belt too while you are in there and maybe the tensioners depending on price.

I have been thinking the exact same thing, I have a stage 2+2011 with 75,000 miles I already replaced the thermostat and she's not made one sound. I would love a 2013+, but I'd lose all my monies in upgrades. I have owned quite a few different generations of us words and I must say that I feel this is probably one of the strongest engines they've built. It doesn't seem practical for me to sell this car by a more expensive car and then drive another 5000 to 10,000 and aftermarket upgrades. I don't even know how slow stock is...

+1
If you like the car then have at it. These have proven to be very reliable cars...
