Maybe a good place to ask a question (or start a discussion), as I see reps from these two reputable companies active here on forum
Is there a remote flashing planned as a service? To be precise, option for customer to buy a "dongle" or however to call it, which will be plugged into OBD and on other end internet connected laptop which will download tune specifically for his car ECU/TCU?

Would be great if someone offered that since it would allow the customer to "flash back". I haven't heard of anyone offering it (or talking about offering it) though.

I'd do this in a heartbeat. Vagcom cable to wifi laptop flash

yeah certainly makes flash back easier [up]
I personally would buy the flashing interface right now if APR would offer it (ofc if price is reasonable)

This is available from numerous other tuners on other platforms. It would be amazing if it was available for our cars.

I was going to say that Cobb is insane for the mini - I loved being able to change my tune based on my mods and flash back to stock when the wife drove it :)

Very interested here as well. My major frustration having just bought an A6 is how limited the options are for tuning them. For three years I ran a piggy back chip on a BMW 535, never had one issue, had tons more power, and could uninstall/reinstall in 20 minutes when taking it into the dealer - never an issue and never got flagged. I'd happily pay for the "approved" Stasis tune if there werent so many mixed and/or mediocre reviews. + 100 hp / + 80-100 tq, maintain the warranty (even the 100k mile warranties), no error codes, and it'd be worth paying the premium...

You have to know that very good piggy will be such good as flesh with final results. HP/TQ gains stable and car is running close to OEM RS6 but if you want more power you will have to change turbochargers and oversize downpipes. serial cars running up to 550-555HP and 650NM of torque.
If u have problem with warranty use piggyback and you will find gr8 solution.

not questioning result (I mean just look at MTM S8 Talladega [drool] ) but somehow flash process seams neater... from my perspective I'm happy with RS6 figures [up] (just not happy letting certain questionable people mess up with my car)

I haven't had a lot of time to look into it yet, but the write ups I read so far were so/so at best. Error codes, uninstall and reinstall to get working, etc. Still looking around though.

Thanks, and totally agree with the flash being more clean. That is my preferred path if I can find what I am looking for.

For the A6 3.0T, this one had fairly good reviews & is fairly cheap:

Thanks, I had that thread bookmarked and finally (this evening) had a chance to read through it. I really wish there was a more definite yes or no as to if AoA can tell for sure or not. Just as others mentioned in that thread, I am really starting to miss BMW dealers who either turned a blind eye to it or, even better, fully supported the tuning.

Isn't the MTM option a piggy back? I woudl think avoiding decection this would be the best option since most piggy backs intercept the ecu signals mid-stream and modify them accordingly. I think the car always thinks that it runs everything stock...
Not ideal for maximum gains but as a DIY and reversible in minutes should be one of the best options around... Opinions?
Piggy backs are reactive tuning. Stick with an APR or giac where the tune is not attempting to modify existing programming.
Go to your tune dealer and have it flashed back to stock. Proven first hand it won't get you flagged (I'm speaking from an APR perspective, not giac).
