So I had the 25k service done a few months ago. Only after 3k miles (28k currently), the car oil level is showing as below. The engine coolant is also very close to min mark. After the previous two oil changes, I only showed 2/10th consumption after 10k miles.

I left the car sitting in my garage for 5 weeks as I went on vacation. A friend drove the car every other week for about 30 mins. I am wondering if that has anything to do with it?

Does Audi top off fluids for free between service intervals? I have the audicare package.

Note: the car is a lease and I don't put my own oil in it. Not planning on keep the car long term.

umm they won't give you oil for free unless their is a warrantable issue. Honestly i would just go get some 0w40 or 5w40 syn oil and just top it off and check it and see how much you used when it is full. I believe audi's spec on oil consumption is 1 qt per 1200 or 1500 miles. but you could of burned 2 qts. I would just go out and buy 1 qt. Its cheap enough. 6-7 bux for a quart and peace of mind. Also how did you use that oil level just after that "2min" period after shutting it off. You should wait atleast 10min after shutting it off to check oil level. When i worked for GM their spec when checking for oil consumption was to run the engine up to normal temp and shut the engine off and wait 15 min then check it. Im also assuming you are on level ground right when you checked it.

I bet they would top you off for free if you have a good relationship with your SA or know how to ask nicely...
The digital Gauge is basically showing you the "OK" area of a dip stick. You are at the lower area of "OK"... so it's fine... but if you want a lil splash you can top it off.

Secondly... next time you let the car sit for that long - just leave it sit the entire time. Having someone drive it for 30 minutes once a week is worst than just letting it sit. Chances are that it probably would not get up to full operating temps (dealership recommends at least an hour drive after the car has been stored)...

Don't worry though...

Didn't wait for 15 minutes so will try that out.

Called SA and he said to wait till the "low engine oil" light comes on before adding a quart. he said I could bring the car in to top off the coolant.

I can get the oil np, but wasn't sure what viscosity and brand of synthetic Audi uses and whether mixing brands would make any difference.

mixing brands doesn't matter. just make sure its full synethic and either 5w40 or 0w40 is fine. Honestly it doesn't matter you can top off at any level just that audi says you don't really need to top it off until its at the low unless you really want to is all. But i believe the oil should be full or close to full all the time. its the blood of your engine. I would put about 1/2 a quart in and check it and see where its at. Unless you bought a dipstick. The car doesn't have one. You will have to use the MMI level gauge. So just pour some in and turn the car on and check it and see where your at. I don't know how that system operates so its best to have the car completely off when you add to it and check it so it will force it to update and show you the correct level.

Get a dipstick! It is possible that the oil was never fully added at your last service. But you never will know. I always check my oil level with a dipstick after any oil change has been done. BTW. my coolant level is continually reading at or near the MIN level. Add some coolant and put a piece of tape on the reservoir to mark the level for future reference. G12 ++

Get a VW approved (502 I believe) such as Mobile1 0w40 or Castrol Syntec 5w40. It should say something along the lines of "European Formula" or "Engineered for Mercedes/Audi/VW." Both are available just about anywhere that sells oil.

Motul specific 5w40 is a vrery good oil.

Needs a breather valve, if that's done, needs pistons and/or cylinder walls are scored. Have a nice day :)
