View Full Version : Finally got me a 2010 Audi S4!

It's been almost two years since I started looking for an AWD car for daily driving. I've always wanted a B8 S4 but they were out of my price range but finally found one earlier this week! It's a 2010 Premium Plus Meteor Gray exterior, red/black interior, and manual. Only downside is that it has 85K miles which shouldn't be a big problem since I average about 7500 miles a year and this will be between two cars.
So far, I already installed an Injen intake and LED interior lights. Got other stuff coming from ECS Tuning next week.
Now I just have a few questions about the car if you guys can help me out. Does the 2010 Premium Plus come with keyless entry? On my other car (Lexus IS350), I can reach into the door handle and it'll unlock. Also for the trunk, do I have to press the trunk button on the key fob and then the button on the trunk?
At 85K miles, what maintenance should I get done on it? I'm about to change out all the filters, oil, spark plugs, and wipers. Do I need to flush out the trans fluid or clean out carbon build-up?
Lastly, I do plan on modding the car. Looking at the APR or GIAC stage 2 tune and pulley upgrade but will the stock clutch handle the power? If not, what aftermarket clutch can handle the power/torque but feel close to the stock clutch? And who has modded gray B8 S4's? Looking for some motivation lol. [rolleyes]
Apologize for all the questions. And sadly, don't have pictures of the car, yet...

Welcome,
If you have keyless entry (Advanced Key), then you can reach into the door handle and it'll unlock; you'll only have to grab the button on the trunk.
As for the other questions, most people haven't complained of clutches (unless I'm blind). And, before the meanies get in here, i'll kindly suggest searching for clutch + stage2 & Grey B8 threads.
Welcome again!

If the car doesn't have a push start ignition, it doesn't have the Advanced Key option.

i wouldn't worry about the trans fluid. No need to replace it. As far as tune and pulley go, you have to look to see who is the closest vendor and what they sell. Unless the car has issues i wouldn't worry about the carbon issue unless you want to remove the S/C and clean it.

chi123, give the VIN to your Audi dealer and see what services have been completed. You can also pull a Carfax…as Audi services show up on the report…maybe not in detail like you would get from the dealer.
Per Audi maintenance schedule, the trans fluid SHOULD be serviced @ 55k miles. So, if it's not been done…get on it ASAP!
Here's a link to Audi Maintenance Schedule for 2010:

In 2010 I think you had to get the prestige package to get the keyless entry, it may have been an option on a premium plus, but if you don't have the push button start on the console you don't have keyless, the other annoying thing missing on the early premium plus models is memory seats.

Although Audi does not specify a fluid change interval for the manual trans oil, it would be a good idea to change it, and the rear differential gear oil. Use the 2 specified types of gear-oils from the Audi dealer.

Thanks for the replies guys! My S4 doesn't have push button start so I guess I don't have the advanced key. Kinda sucks since I'm so use to it on my IS and hard to believe the S4 didn't come with it when a base model IS does. Memory seats would be nice too but at least it has navigation, B&O sound, and back-up camera+sensors.

Congrats, have a modded gray b8 s4 myself. Happy with all the mods I've done so far, nothing negative.. (yet or ever hopefully). Can't go wrong with apr or giac for a 6mt b8 s4
in 2010 advanced key was standard on prestige and add on for prem plus IIRC

My first B8 S4 was a 2010 lightly equipped. CF trim, SD, leather and 19" wheels and I loved it. Traded it in before lease end and leased another. This time, a 2014 with similar option as the 2010 Plus advanced key, memory seats, compass in mirror (which were then standard features). Got the Nav with back up camera, B&O, . Plus the car had metal pedals flat botom steering wheel and some other upgrades. Ordered it just like I wanted . But due to medical issues, I decided that I wanted to get off the leasing merry go round. So I traded it in for a 2011, and lost some of the features that I had on the 2014. Now I have most of the options but no advaced key, memory seats, flat botton steering wheel, metal pedals, wi fi. BUT I still enjoy the car and don't regret my decision. Dont have all the bells and whistles but I have the bells that I feel are essential to me. Enjoy your S4. Its a great car regardless of the options

You can get a flat bottom wheel and pedals for your 11'.
