View Full Version : So I'm officially a BMW guy now........Farewell, B5er's

Hey all,

It's been a good run, but I am officially bowing out of the B5 scene. My B5 S6 (as I'd affectionately named it) has moved onto a new owner. She was picked up this morning.

I was too distraught to snap any pics as she was rolling out of the driveway, but here's a few from a couple weeks ago:

Her replacement is an E90 BMW 335i Msport 6spd [drool][evilmad]

While I LOVE my new car, I'll always have a soft spot for B5's. Thanks to all for the wisdom, laughs, and support over the years. If I return to a B5 someday, it'll likely be in a B5 S4. So.....farewell, B5 A4 forum. I'm off to E90post.com

Thanks again.

Yeah most likely.....I can't resist.

I really need to stay away from forums.....

New car looks nice! [:)]

I've only had my B5 for a few months, and am ready to move on. I get bored of things quickly you could say, Haha.

Later Justin! May see you on the dark side one day.

Later man, enjoy the new ride. Everytime I look at my car, all I see is $$ symbols. I could be a happy man with or without her. Lol

I still remember your very old setup, when you had the black avant. T25 gt3071r ran on 15ps because you were on the stock block. Even remember it was an AWM [;)]

Good luck with the 335i! I almost bought one a few weeks ago. It was a 335i or 535i and I decided to get an '08 Infinity M45S :) A lot of guys local to me have modded theirs and are making good power numbers with that N54. I plan on owning a car with an inline 6 TT some day.

Farewell man!

Excellent choice for your next ride. [:)]

Anyone have contact info for the op? I know he's no longer on the forum that's why I ask. I have a big electrical issue that he had experience with. An email will do...

It looks like you have a problem in the CAN bus wiring OR in one of the modules on the bus such as ecm, airbag, cruise control, cluster, etc..

Did you check the ecm for any water leak? The seal around the ecm box can warp causing water leakage, a very common issue in B5's. Water can easily reach the connectors underneath ecm box through leaky seals causing corrosion to the pins which may lead into similar problems. My car's ecm seal was bad causing water to enter the connectors below, but I caught it before it doing the damage..
