View Full Version : STI-R Plus Installation Question
Hey Everyone and anyone with experience on this:
I bought a used S4 with the Beltronics STI-R Plus radar system installed. Recently I received a "Check Receiver Wiring" message. I have NO IDEA where the module is installed. Ive searched all over the interior without removing any panels and cant find a thing. Is there a typical place installers will place the module? I did find the USB connection but it is tucked away in the drivers side fuse box. If the receiver needs to be repaired, I need to remove it and I cant find where the wires connect to do so...Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the problem, check my build thread link below. I did my own install and you can see where I put it. My "brain" is installed under the steering column, but it could also be behind the glove box. Where is the receiver mounted? in the grill? try to follow the wire and see where it penetrates the firewall.

I have a shop install mine so perhaps your local (sound) shop can help you out if you can't.

I just (re)installed my STiR Plus that I moved over from a previous car. Do you know where the control module is (the button panel)? I kept all the wires and interface module under the driver's side under-dash panel...there is enough room for everything in there, plus it's right next to the fuse panel. I'd check there first. Your receiver module (if the system is properly installed) probably would be behind the grill somewhere, since it needs an open view ahead. If you can locate the interface module, it's the "brains" of the system and where all the various connections are made. You can trace the wires from there. Definitely check under the driver's dash though.
"CHECK RECEIVER WIRING" means that it is not connected, either physically or there is a fault in the wire itself. Come to think of it, if you see the display module, you can trace its wire back to the interface module.
Hope that helps.
Thanks everyone, this was a professional install and everything is tucked away behind the interior panels. The receiver is properly mounted and i gave a little tug on the cord and i havent experienced any problems since. If it goes off again, i'll have to look further into it.
