Is this weird dark color on my discs an indicator that my discs are worn?

how many miles? original OEM (1st set) pads? I wouldn't go by color. You can also take your wheel off and take a caliper to your rotors. There is a minimum rotor thickness that it should be before needing replacement.

Its just an uneven transfer layer. How much pad thickness do you have left? What pads are they?

No, it's a sign of the pads being overstressed and transferring pad material unevenly as MMisencik157 said. Have you been beating on the brakes lately?

No idea what pads they are. They were changed when I bought the car in February. I have about 70000kms on the car and they are the orginal OEM rotors.

I haven't been beating on the brakes. What is weird is that is the only one like it. That is drivers side front.

can't tell from the pics, but is there a blueish color to it? put the car up on a lift if you can and try spinning the wheels. if there is a one wheel that is harder to spin and takes a bit of force, seems like a seized caliper.

id have to think it looks like pad material is transfering to the the rotor. Look real close or feel the rotor to see if its not smooth or chunky looking or feeling. Might be time for a brake job. You can service the brakes if you have lots of pad thickness left. Id measure the rotors and see how close to min thickness you are. if you far away you can have someone machine the rotor for you to clean them up. Then just take some sandpaper to the pads and "de glaze " for lack of a better term to make a fresh surface to mate to the new finish on the rotors. And you will be good as new. Or if the pads are to low then time for pads and rotors if the rotors are worn to low.

But if the rotor feels smooth and just looks weird Id just leave it alone if you have plenty of pad left.

I'm wondering if the salt on your roads isn't simply contributing to a layer of rust. Does it go back to shiny sliver after driving a few km?
