Just like the title says. Carbon fiber drive shaft or some kind of light weight drive shaft. Anyone makes one? What could be potential gains for the Stage 2 guys. Should be pretty big weight savings plus decrease in parasitic drivetrain power loss. Who has one? What are your impressions?

These are custom, i am guessing on average you will be spending 900-1500.

Google didn't help? I don't think this needed a thread to start. Those websites posted above returned when I searched your thread title in google. I'm not trying to be an ass, but this seems a bit much.

The weight savings are minimal, plus a single piece driveshaft tends to adds vibration. Below are the results from a member on the B5 S4 chassis. I assume the results would be similar for the B8.

Stock: 14.4lbs
CF Single-Piece: 8.4 lbs
Total savings: 6 lbs

You're much better off getting a nice set of lightweight wheels. The stock peelers come in at around 29lbs, so you can pretty easily save 9+ lbs per corner by replacing them.

Ok, thanks. Thought this could be something worth while. I will try to shave some weight by doing two piece rotors for now, then maybe wheels.
