Just noticed this morning when I was fueling up that there was an awful lot of water in the recessed area behind the fuel door around the cap. I usually see a little water there which I understand will get in since its not airtight, but this morning there was significantly more. Its raining bad here and just went out to check to see if its filled again and it was even more filled than this morning. Anyone else getting this? Is it an actual problem? I know the neck is sealed with the cap so water shouldn't get into the tank, but it seems like its a little much. Any feedback is appreciated

Is there a drain? I don't remember... if so it might be plugged... do you have compressed air you can blast in there?

Mine does not fill with water at all. Raining hard here in NJ today just went out and checked no water, assuming there is a drain.

i have to take a rag and soak up the water that remains after washing the car, mine doesn't drain either. i was wondering the same.

There is that hole in the bottom, but I wasn't sure if that's a drain for water or a vent for fuel vapor. Yeah I do have air I can blast in there, so maybe I'll try that later.

I always have to wipe mine out after washing the car. Seems to catch a lot of water. Does not "fill up" but seems there are a lot of surfaces in there that catch the water.

Find the drain and snake it to clear any obstruction. On our old car, I routinely used bicycle brake cables to snake sunroof drains that were notorious for clogging on that model. Just go to your local bike shop and ask for a brake or shifter cable and you're set.

There's a hole iin the bottom of the fuel door pocket. Get a can of the compressed air for computer keyboards, hook the straw to it and put the other end in the hole. PUSH BUTTON. It'll blow all that gung and sand and dirt out the bottom above your rear wheel, inside your wheel well. Next, go to the corners of your sunroof, while open, look for those drainage holes and do the same. Keep the sunroof ones clean or it might back up and wind up in your floor boards under your carpet. Sunroof ones are in the corners and blow out below the car right in front of the wheel wells.
Good maintenance to do for your car to keep those clean.

A quick blast of high pressure water from a self-service car wash will also clear a clogged drain tube. I have done this several times with the two A5s I've owned prior to my S4.
