Hello, so I'm going to be replacing my passenger sides cam chain tensioner tomorrow on my 1998 30v 2.8L. I have been unable to find a DIY for the 2.8L engine, I have found the 1.8t engine DIY here, http://www.passatworld.com/forums/b5-information-base/215732-how-replace-1-8t-cam-chain-tensioner.html

And it has helped me get a better idea of what I need to do, but I'm hoping there is an exact guide for the 2.8L with torque specs, cam cap removal orders, pictures etc.

This will be my first time doing anything engine related inside the engine but I'm pretty confident on my mechanical skills. How many ticks are supposed to be between the cams on the chain etc.. I know none of this for the v6 and it's all very crucial so I don't screw up my timing.

So if anyone has a guide they know of that's be great as I've spent over and hour searching and I keep coming up with 1.8t guides...

It is about the same for the I4, but one less cylinder and twice as many banks.

This should work, it's for A6 but same engine..

Thank you woolveren! That should probably do it. I should be able to get the tensioner out by loosening the caps like the video hopefully.
