Hello! I have an 01 A4 completely stock - silver.

I want to spruce it up a little bit...nothing crazy because I am not sure how much longer it will go...has 225K on the clock.

I am thinking maybe new bumbers, wheels and tires...just make it look a little nicer.

I wouldn't mind lowering it, but I don't want it to rub or always be bottoming out. I like driving it :)

Any good in expensive ideas? Pics would be great!

Thanks,
Mark

do a timing belt/water pump service, lower it a little, rims, tint, drive it.

Front valance, coil-overs, and a nice of wheels will tighty your car up. I would highly recommend making sure your maintenance is up to date prior to upgrades. Maintenance makes a much better use of your money.

Silver B5s seemingly tend to look good with roof racks. I vote no tints!

Yep thats how i feel about quattro's vs nons, U can go anywhere in a quattro O.O, but i have a thread on something similar to this "Making a unique car even more so" one of my idea's was to change the ashtray into something more useful for a non smoker, Such as a cup holder that's not over top of your expensive stereo/equipment >.>

I put a Bluetooth control unit in there for my hands free. Works great with the OEM head unit. When I get a call it says "Phone" on the headunit and cuts out whatever I'm listening to so I can answer the phone.

What kind of budget are you working with?

I'd suggest that you keep a very close and watchful eye before you start modding it with $1,000+ things. I'd say for starters, have fun with some Plasti Dip and maybe some general things like exhaust tips, and interior trim. That kind of thing to start out with.

Maybe some new wheels and an S4 front bumper, but again I'd hold off for a while unless you can afford both mods and maintenance.

Since you've got front wheel drive, you maybe want to look at these lowering springs since the sale is so good http://store.blackforestindustries.com/bgaua4b5losp.html

I would suggest getting the DEPO headlight housing and HID kit to replace the non xenon headlight. Looking about $400 in total you would be amazed about its light output, plus you will be able to get rid of the Orange Amber side marker.
Just my cents

already have a gauge on the post next to the windshield.

Be careful, if you have an airbag there than you will have a gauge coming at your face in an accident.

But seriously not only have modding been covered 100+ times, but also the fact to do maintenance first (especially with 225k). Use the search bar, I swear we need like a DIY for using a search bar stickied.

Or a 5 search minimum before being allowed to post.

start with a thorough interior detailing, and basic maintenance.

in my fronttrak removing the muffler (last) and leaving the resonator(first) made for a nice exhaust note. no performance gain but it sounded better. just costs a few bucks for a piece of pipe and like 2 welds at a muffler shop
