http://www.audizine.com/gallery/data/500/thumbs/image952.jpg (http://www.audizine.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=78216&title=image952&cat=500) So I'm driving home and I'm passing some parked cars I'm here some strange noise coming from the front of my car, when I stop there's what appears to be steam or smoke. No leaks or fluid anywhere. I checked for coolant and it's full, I noticed there is bits of rubber on the floor and this pulley seems to be crooked. I had a friend start it as I watched the pulley and it looked like an o-ring was broken in between the pulley and whatever it is that it's connected too. I couldn't upload a video but it's a horrible noise. As the car was running the noise became louder and the pull-up started to shake more so I shit the car off. So if I wanted to somehow replace that o-ring how would be the easier way? I've seen multipe b5's with the entire front end off but I have no idea how to do so. Has anybody had this problem before and can help me out?

Hard to make anything out from the picture.
Are you sure the "o-ring" you're talking about isn't part of the serp. belt?
They can shear off when they're old and they'll get caught in your pulleys. I've seen locked up motors because the belt got around the crank pulley and stopped it dead.

Did you take that picture with a potato? Do a search for "service position", pretty much every member on here has probably had their car in it. Takes 5 minutes after you do it once or twice.
