Yesterday afternoon someone ran a red light and smashed up my 2008 A4 2.0TQ pretty badly.[mad] It's definitely not drivable (wouldn't start, steering wheel is locked up, brakes barely worked, leaking fluids though I don't know what; thankfully there was a hill I could coast down a bit to get out of the intersection). I didn't even consider that it could be totaled until I started poking around Audizine today and saw plenty of pics of cars with (seemingly) less damage than mine has that were totaled. I'm of two minds - I absolutely love my car but I don't think I'd want it back after this. Sigh. So what do you think?
p.s. I'm a newb here so I apologize in advance if I'm using incorrect terminology or my pics don't post right. Images are in my member gallery if they don't show up below.

If the subframe is damaged it will be a total loss, otherwise it's fixable but the parts may add up to 60% of the value of the car and total it.

Toatled. The radiator and a/c support went into the motor I can see it. You may need a new engine.

Hope everyone's ok first of all. And second, yes, sadly it is a total loss. I had very minor damage to my doors recently and the total came to $2,800. Do the math. :(

Yikes I agree. I say totaled too. Thing is our cars are getting older so even what one might consider average damage can total our cars. This however seems quite severe. Sorry

I think I've come to terms with the fact that I will be parting with this car. The more I think about it I'll be shocked if it isn't totaled. I bought it for a steal in 2012 and it only had 49,000 miles on it and I hadn't even gotten a door ding. I mean, this car was pristine inside and out. Thank goodness for gap insurance. Wish me luck on finding another awesome deal on another Audi that's in as great of shape as this one was.

That sucks man, looks totaled though. I had someone hit me on the front end, much less damage than yours and it was a 5 grand repair.

100% totaled....The hardest part now will be finding another B7 in good condition...
As the cars are getting older and older, they are becoming harder and harder to find...

Sundaybrunch: Get yourself to a doctor and get thoroughly checked out medically especially your neck. You may feel OK or just a little sore right now but years from now the damage done to your body in this crash will haunt you. I know for fact this is possible because it happened to me. Don't shrug it off. Make the appointment.... Now.... Have you done it yet?

Thanks for the concern, Murph. The funny thing is my body barely experienced the impact. My body jerked to the left a little bit but there was no whiplash or anything. I got really lucky in this one.

Exactly. I took a look last night at what's available in my area and there's little chance I'll find another B7 in good condition. I'm pretty sure I'll need to go with a B8.

Your car is so bad that it will go to Poland, get a fake repair and sold here in Europe. ;)
