I wiring an aux cable to my RNS-e using this guide
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/445009-AUX-RNS-E-(pics)

(would post in thread but don't have permission)
My question is if I order more of the wiring kits, is it possible to wire an iPhone 5 Charge or rather USB outlet ? I guess to simply my question it would be are there any power pins on the RNS-e Aux Module?

Thanks,
Mitch

No, you would need an ipod kit. you coudl always just hooked up two wires, one Cigarette lighter and one aux

So there's no power pins for the RNS-e module?

So there's no power pins for the RNS-e module?

There are, pull your RNSE and there is a wiring schematic on the top of it.

So I built the wiring, plugged it in. But can't recode using Vag Com due to no connection to those ports?. I have a 2006 A4 S-Line with an RNS-e when I bought it, I updated it to SW260. I went to grab the manual the other day and there was also a manual for a symphony II, is this what was stock and the RNS-e was retro fitted after the fact? If so is this why I am having trouble with the VAG-COM and not being able to recode, and if so how can I fix this? Other things to note, bluetooth to my phone and everything has worked seamlessly, just can't bag-com. Secondly its not my VAG-COM but I know a guy in the area who does the service and I have gone to him twice and we can't access the channel 37 or 56. Thoughts?

non-authentic vag com cable or incomplete wiring harness

He said its semi-genuine? Safe to assume that this is the issue because everything else is working? Or just because bluetooth and nav and everything works the wiring harness could still be incomplete.

Did you have a Symphony 2+ before upgrading to the RNS-E? If so you'll need to switch pin C7 --> B5 from your quad lock for your Kline to work and be able to connect via vag-com. If you you're Bose too, you'll need to change B5 -->B7 first.

I bought it with the RNS-e, but when I opened the manual package the other day there was a symphony II manual in there with the RNS-e booklet as well. So I'm thinking it was retrofitted unless the RNS-e is standard with the S-line?. There is some weird things with the car, its got s-line everything and a black interior but a beige headliner and rear view mirror.

Axis do you know how I switch the pins from the module? I don't want to break the wires removing them?

The steps I posted earlier were for a car equipped with a Symphony 2+ from the factory. Easy way to tell if it was the case you will have a quadlock connector just like the one for the rns-e.

You remove the plastic tab holding the wires in place. You use a jewlerer mini flat head screwdriver to press on the tab holding the wire in place and pull gently.

If non Bose, that pin will be empty.

For something different, you should hook up a QI wireless charge and bluetooth receiver to the RNS-E.
This way you can charge and steam music at the same time.

Magnets hold the phone in place, luckily the nexus has some metal in it to keep it from falling

Dose this interfere with the OEM phone Bluetooth at all?

I am not certain since i do not have factory bluetooth.

But i am guessing no. The phone should be able to pair up with the bluetooth receiver through AUX (shown in the picture) and bluetooth for phone functions for the RNS-E at the same time without a problem.
Currently i have a bluetooth headset that i use while the phone is paired up with the BT receiver through AUX. When a call is received, music is paused and the phone gets pushed to the headset.

If you thinking about the induction coils interfering, they do not interfer with the GPS, BT or WIFI on the phone.

So I went at this tonight, and found that the c7 pin isn't there. Im not sure if this RNS-e came from the factory or was installed after (I do have a manual for it). But like I said earlier I wanted to add the aux and the guy said his cable wasn't able to get to the channels. So like suggested i checked if I needed to move pin C7 to B5 and C7 wasn't there and B5 was spoken for. So when it comes down to it everything works (bluetooth phone, radio, nav) but I can't communicate via VAG-COM. Does this mean the only thing it could mean is the guys cable? He said his "is semi-genuine, I paid $99 for them from a software company. It definitely isn't those 20 dollar china ones. But who knows, if you use the actual Ross Tech ones, they may work.".

Any ideas?

Multiple codes for module coded incorrectly and would unplug it and then not get codes for it

Apparently its a K-Line Issue.

Did you move the pin C7 to B5?

Did you move the pin C7 to B5?

There was no pin in C7 and B5 was taken, so I'm assuming that was done. See pics in album above.

It looks like the brown wire which os the bose is actually in 8 not 7. K line wire is green with blue streaks on it

Can you open up the blue connection so i can see the wires? If you have bose (easiest way to tell is i think the speaker grilles in the door say bose on them)

Yup, I can do it tomorrow.

for the time being this might help, I do have a green wire going to that pin in the blue connector, but no brown pin, and I'm 99 percent sure I'm not bose but never checked, maybe thats the answer (lack of brown wire) haha.

Anyone got any tips? Cannot connect to RNS-e via Vag Com

PNW Avant

Move B5 to B7

Move C7 to B5

If that's already been done then you have a non-authentic vagcom, or a faulty RNS-e (non-authentic can do SOME functions but not ALL functions). Recommend going to your regional forum and asking there. People are usually willing to help.

All cars come with beige headliner unless you have the titanium package.
