As the title says I just bought my B7 and am having the timing belt changed on Monday. My plans for the car are to make it a fun daily driver but I want to make sure everything is in working order but along the way if I can upgrade any parts while doing the maintenance that need to be done I want to do it.

I found this light weight pully kit from ECS. Does anyone know if it's worth it or if there is a better alternative along with any other upgrades while the timing belt is being done?

From what I have seen when it comes to swapping out pulleys reliability is diminished. The more you change the more you sacrifice reliability...with the exception of a few things (catch can etc.). If you haven't already purchased the parts I'd suggest picking up the entire kit from Hugh (water pump, thermostat, etc).

How many miles? Change N80 valve cost $20 change cam follower cost around $30 change dv valve cost $60 and change coolant flange cost $25 this suckers will go bad so change them to be good. Best of all they are super easy to replace exept the coolant flange is a whore.

In general Europa offers better pricing and generally with any of the kits (oil change, TB, etc) though they share the same main components Europa tends to offer the little extra for the things you should do at the same time your changing everything else. Plus... Hughs the man. [up]

I'm not planning to go big turbo, atleast not any time in the near future but I might do a ECU tune at some point. Should I go with the stock DV or go Forge.

make sure you get an oem stat from europa and not the wahler. I don't know why they even sell those anymore. If they cared for their customers they wouldn't...

I have a shop doing it for me, so I'll have to check what brands they use and will make sure they use a DV revision D.
