BAD N80 Valve/Tensioner/ Gas cap Video

So lately my close fuel gas cap has come on. then threw a beautiful cel.....[headbang] so I baught a new gas cap. cleared code and today it came on again [mad] also I haven't changed my N80 valve but when i touch it it makes a clicking noise. also is my tensioner making this noise on the video? when is cold is loud when car warms up it goes away. would a bad N80 valve cause the close fuel gas cap? I already baught one but i just want to verify?thank you guys.

Serpentine belt tensioner is cheap and easy to replace. Engage the parking brake and then put it into gear, and if the tensioner is bad you will see the thing shake like crazy and hear a lot of rattling from it.

I have not done my timing belt yet i'm waiting to hit 85k to change everything. but what about the N80 valve? do you know anything about that?

Yup i figured it was that. thanks for the link man. at 78k is good mileage to go bad i guess.

Without reading what was alreadynposted, n80 is cheap. I got mine from a vw dealer. Why not throw it into the mix? They have been known to throw gas cap codes.

yeS I already baught a N80 with Europaparts for $15. waiting for it to ship. do you know if they make noises when they are bad?

N80 and fuel cap are the two most common causes. That being said, I replaced both of mine and I still have this unresolved CEL. [headbang]
