View Full Version : VAG tool #1582/2, 01A gearbox disassembly

In the process of rebuilding my gearbox and I'm stuck trying to get the input shaft bearing out. Anyone have VAG tool #1582 and attachment 2 they'd be willing to let me borrow/rent? Tried making my own tool but the bearing won't budge and I don't want to damage it.

I did this 2 years ago. I spend about a day trying to make a gear puller that would work with no luck. I found out you can press the input shaft out of the bearing with a press then press the bearing out. Just make sure the gears are clear when you are pressing the input shaft an the entire set of gears is heavy be prepared so they don't drop on he ground.

Yeaaap. Figured that all out last night. Finally got it out.
