First post...ahhh..feels good.

Alright now that that is out of the way I need some help. I just picked up this beautoful 2006 A4 2.0 FSI and it had (as I suspected) a CEL on. I found this hose not connected to anything and could definitely use some help finding it's home. It looks like am evap hose but I don't see any obvious places to put it.

This is mainly my daily as I work on my R32T's second build. I'll update this as I upgrade the car. I ordered a few maintenance parts so far so once those arrive I'll dig in and keep everyone in the loop. Cheers[emoji481]

Lol thanks guys I guess I'll continue the search for the enfamous P0455 I've read about. Guess I'll try and get a smoke test done.

The only turbo photo I have would be for my R...Unless you wanted to see the Audis snail.

Since that shot I've redone the piping and some other stuff.

Anyways to keep on topic looks like my parts will be here Saturday which means a fun Sunday for me

T04E from an old EIP kit. It does the job. I'm hoping to do an entirely new build this next year. It's parked with 60k on the clock now.

Welcome to the fun.

Lol thanks man. It's a fun little car.

So last night I decided to seafoam treat the intake. So I used the PCV vacuum and to my suprise no smoke came pouring out. I mean literally nothing.

I've never seen a car have nothing come out so I'm not sure if it was just recently cleaned really really well or I might have had my nose to close to the seafoam fumes and I missed it all.

I thought everyone around here and their dogs advise against seafoam.

I've heard both good and bad things. Personally I run it in everything without any problems.

Seafoam will have about zero effect on our carbon build up. It is a demon and typically takes gallons of brake cleaner and a screw driver to get it off.

Lol not to mention one killer headache.

I guess I'll have to just take my intake manifold off and see what's going on in there. I'll add it to the list for Sunday.

Yes do this and do a full carbon cleaning. Took me about 3 hours to do it. Now that I know how to remove my cylinder head I would rather do that then pick at that bitch with a screwdriver again.

I'm not sure that I'm fully committed to taking the entire head off but I might get carried away.

I can do my head in about an hour and a half. But I've done it a few times.

Walnut blasting is the easier way of [wrench] carbon from the valves. But you need to remove the intake manifold and of course the machine itself[=(]

Wire brush on a die grinder does the trick pretty well.

Maybe I was lucky, but I soaked the little whores in berrymans b12 overnite and did some scraping and vacuuming the next day. Came out pretty damn good. Nite and day diff, too

Well I guess my parts will be coming in today at some point. Might as well start tearing her down for the timing chain and new water pump.

Might as well. Biggest chunk of tome is getting to the parts you're changing.

Well I didn't end up pulling the intake manifold off but I did get everything else finished tonight.

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/08/acd66148987204c5de7d53ba35296a75.jpg

Oil Change
Coolant Flush
Fuel Filter
New Timing Belt
New Water Pump
New Timing Belt Tensioner
New Rollers
New Accessory Belt
New Spark Plugs
New Coil Packs

I also drained the lower intercooler hose. It had about a half cup of oil pour out of it. There was a ton of grass and crap packed between the radiator and the condenser that I cleaned out.

After I got it all together I took it around the block. I'm not sure if something threw it in limp mode but it was driving like a regular 2.0

Any ideas? It runs quieter and seems better than before I did all of the work but it just doesn't feel like it is building any boost at all or like it's all dumping right away.

The thing is I didn't really mess with any sensors except for the coolant reservoir sensor. I'm going to look over everything again today and scan everything to see what I can find.

I'm not sure what happened, this morning I cleared the codes and it drove perfectly fine.

I was looking at recoding Module 17. Anyone have the correct value to turn off the seat belt chime but for the FWD with 1 tank sensor. I don't think 0023259 is correct since it throws off my fuel gage.

SmoothCriminal
11-09-2014, 12:47 PM
Well I answered my own question...took a bit more reading but I found this for anyone that might want to do the same.

"My gas display did the same thing when I entered the code that was posted for the Seatbelt Chime (0023259) instead of calculating what it should be. My original code was 0022261 and not the 0023261. When I corrected it the fuel display issue went away. Should be 0022259."

The 0022259 will take the seat belt charm away but it won't mess up your fuel gauge.

Alright so I got a little excited and bought a few new goodies.

A genuine Ross-Tech cable and License (I didn't need one for the R32 VCDS Lite and a cheap amazon cable worked perfect but with the CAN bus on the Audi I figured it was time.)
A new N80 valve
Cam Follower
Upgraded DV

In another month or so I'll continue to steadily keep doing small updates. Sadly I am sure I will hit a point in the near future where I will stop upgrading the car and focus more on my R32. It is suppose to be my toy and although I love both cars I made a promise to the wife to get it back on the road again.

So far I'm loving the way it drives. I do need to start looking into some audio stuff and an OEM nav system as well. I haven't really looked into suspension but I'm just leaning toward some lowering springs with a good set of shocks. I feel coilovers would be a waste for a daily.

If anyone has recommendations that they want to post here please feel free. I will do my own research for obvious reasons but I welcome as much input as I can get. :cheers [wrench]

For the price you pay for springs and shocks[confused] it will get you into a entry level coil over such as St or Solo Werks. Youll luv the[drive]

Not sure if serious [emoji53] ...but for real do they ride nice enough for a daily? Would the drive lul a tiny infant into a dreamworld?

The madness continues:
http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/18/46175cca31333d8700d0a138061c3bdf.jpg

Changed the cam follower, purge valve and diverter valve. Car is running great so far l. I still need to give it a good carbon cleaning and then I can look into starting the upgrades [emoji106].

Until I get a boost gage I would like to log some numbers with Vcds. Does anyone know what blocks I should be looking at?
